Hi gang! We were at Love 2 Stay in Shropshire a couple of weeks ago and looked around some of the new MoHos on display. We only have two seat belts and want to be able to take a passenger or two away with us occasionally. I photographed the label on a foldaway seat and found this company. They say they’ll only supply to someone who fits out MoHos, anybody know where I could get a supply & fit in the North West, Liverpool/Manchester area?

TIA!!

Russ

I think this may have to be a An addition put on your v5 document and again as a modification with your insurance company .
don’t know how it affects either.

You are probably right, not really worried about that, want to find someone to supply and fit…..

Is there somewhere to fit it?
In my experience most motorhomes have very little, if any, free floor space and as it needs bolting to the chassis that narrows the location even more.
As you said, they only supply to converters.....who can fit it during the build and fit other stuff around it during the initial build phase.

You need to check if it has anchor point fixings fitted. I retrospectively fit rear seat belts (x2) and a lap belt to my old VW Baywindow and after taking all of the trim and rear seat out, I found a factory fit anchor fitting already there so it made it much easier. If you have a PVC based van, there may already be these fit so just a case of buying the seat belt fittings. If it’s a motorhome, I’d say it maybe more expensive task as you will need a rated Upside down ‘T’ post designed for the belt and space to install it. I’d recommend speaking with a camper van converter/builder as they will know where to source the parts and what hoops to jump through and then take it from there.

Is it a fold flat seat you need? There’s this one on eBay, new https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/26489450...d=link&campid=5338547443&toolid=20001&mkevt=1 although it’s expensive. We fitted swivel seats from the rear of a people carrier in the back of our Boxer, and had them mot checked before building in and covering anything. The inspector said they were fixed in if anything better than the front seats! There is limited places you can mount the base and seatbelt anchor points though.

The seat I saw in several of the MoHos fitted snuggly into the space under a side fitting lounge seats immediately behind the driver and passenger seats. They fold flat and disappear into the base of the lounge seat. I want to find someone who will fit one for me. Liverpool/Manchester area.

Cheers Russ
