Are they fibre glassed roof and body bonded together..?

Subject to my next lot of test`s and examinations...

I will be looking for one.... 2 berth... must have shower & toilet...

Not to worried about how old as long as it`s tidy and dry...

And no silly inflated price...

Will only be used a few times a year for a couple of days ...

If you see anything oop North on your travels, please give me a shout/PM..

Thanks..

I think they built them a bit like a boat, grp in a mould so one piece (no water ingress through joints). I seem to remember they built a limited run of them again a few years back to celebrate something or other.

Autosleeper one piece body in "plastic" I think.....lovely van but do rot underneath..... check ....think it will have the 2.5 /turbo...not the fastest/quietest.Think they do a Ford one as well.

Got one that is going on sale next month, a VW T4 K reg, 1992 about the only thing that has kept me sane these last 18 months or so.
Got a couple of cosmetic probs, fairly rust free tho, Mech is A1, just waiting for the Mot to cone up before getting rid.

They can leak. One up the road from Me was soaked through due to a leaking side window.

Are they the ones where the kitchen tap is actually in the sink rather than on it 🤔

The difference is that the Monococ shell does not absorb the moisture like most do. Proven fact from Auto sleeper and CmHc and Practical Motor homes magazine.
That a side....Even the likes of N and B and Hymer have problems....nature of the beast unfortunately

Auto sleeper executive, cracking little vans if looked after. My folks had one and really liked its compact size but had lots of space inside and quite comfy.
Shower area isnt the biggest, but its definitely useable.
And full oven etc too

It is an Autosleeper.
We have had an Amethyst on a Ford Transit chassis for 14yrs.
This basic design has been built on VW and Peugeot depending on the model.
None of them have a fixed bed.

most panel van conversions dont suffer with damp problems in the same way as coachbuilts mo and you wont have the problems of a 20 year old base vehicle

Inside the van the walls were carpeted and they were soaked and mouldy same as the cushions.

AutoSleeper Executive. I had one & it was superb, only real issue was that it was a tad small for Hazel & I with the dogs, we're a bit on the large side.

If you PM me, I'll give you my mobile number & a true appraisal of ownership mate?

To become mouldy Im guessing here but it must have been sitting around unused for sometime?
Mould spores take a little bit of time to develop so its possible that it had been put away wet and not sorted sooner.
That aside...as said...Nature of the beast unfortunately. Wood , rubber , metal etc....They all have to move at some time.
