What happened to the Hymer S820 thread ?

I imagine it wasn’t having the desired affect.

Martin

It was being sold for a "friend", so probably the owner was not a bona fide subscriber to fun. :reel:

Don't know why it was taken down Myself and I put it on ?
It's listed on facebook and ebay as well.
If you think a flagship Hymer built motorhome is a shed We may as well just book in to the Ritz.

How does this compare to the Hymer, 10k cheaper, less miles and newer?

Frankia looks nice. The Hymer S820 buyer bought the van from a Dealer and has spent money on it.
She hasn't used it.
I am just trying to help Her sell it on.
A Shark Dealer offered 22K for it yesterday.
{ Apologies to actual marine sharks }

I think the mileage will put dealers and normal folk off, a dealer has offered 22K, who valued the van in the 1st place?

Google Hymer S820 and see what they sell for.
Circa 40K is the answer.

A vehicle is worth what someome is willing to pay, someone wants a quick sale, don't ask the going price (whatever that is). I'm in the market for another van circa 35K and I wouldn't pay that for this one. Just my opinion though.

I will be cleaning and polishing the Hymer next week.
The owner has had more pressing things to attend to caring for others.
My current van is ideal for Me a 19FT long Dethleffs Globebus.
The Hymer S820 is 27FT long, LHD so not something that I would want to buy for myself but every example that I have found of this model on the internet has sold.

Id say put new photos up once its gleaming, and lots of them. For ex:Wheres the photos of the bathroom, all you are showing is a shower spray, no proper photos of bed area either. Do you use a ladder to climb in or steps etc. What size is the wardrobe, cupboard spaces. Nosey women like me want to see it all. :ROFLMAO:

Will do.
I'm converting a Mercedes Viano at the Moment so next week will be my earliest opportunity.

Forgot it was LHD that can be a big no-no for some.

If Jim wants to take the ad down no probs.
It's on fb and ebay as well.
I fitted a bike rack for a local ex-policeman the other week and He asked Me to look out for a Motorhome for His Sister.
A Funster was selling a smallish Nu-Venture so I told Him about it and His Sister is buying it.
Nothing in it for Me but happy to help a few people out.

Not for the majority IMHO.
I'd say more folk will be looking for a LHD than a RHD, this van could be bought from anyone in Europe where I can't see many outside the UK buying RHD.

I dismissed quite a few vans that were RHD. If you're solo, travelling europe LHD is a godsend.
Yeah, my 1st van was LHD, great for driving abroad, normally a little cheaper to purchase too.

Really ? I use to drive lhd cars in the UK 40+ years ago. There were ,& still are, specialist car dealers selling lhd & noting else in the Midlands. price is usually 2 to 2,5 x an equivalent rhd model.

I would say the vast majority of British Motorhome owners don't even go abroad, look for a LHD van for sale in the UK, there's very few, would a dealer want one on his forecourt? Doubt it.

One thing that struck me was the photo of the rear bed, looked like the back wall to the left was damp ?

No damp. Previous slight leak that was fixed straight away at the Supplying Dealership under warranty. The stain is caused by dirty water and will be cleaned off next week. They use 'Clean All' cleaning fluid at Dealership's for the same sort of thing on a daily basis.
