Isn’t 616 a Sprinter chassis? 6t 160bhpLooks like its the Atego chassis.so i'd say about £150 - £180 for the parts + about 2hours labour if not DIY.

Oh well if its a sprinter chassis discs & pads should be about £120-£140.Yes, not Atego. Sprinter, 157bhp, 5990kg but uprated ours to 6400kg.
This all depends on why the brakes need to be replaced.
The Mercedes Sprinter of the age mentioned with the twin wheel axles at the back have almost non existent parking brakes, its a design fault & one of the few characteristics of this vehicle which was bad.
This was cured with the advent of the Sprinter 906 model.
So to sum up, if the brakes are being replaced to fix a handbrake problem, you might be wasting money? If they simply require replacement due to wear, carry on.
I think you'll find that "non-existent parking brake" is certainly not the case with a 616 sprinter chassis, because the 6 tonne chassis comes with air handbrake. ?
I would be interested to know when the Discs and Pads were examined if they really needed replacing since it didn’t cure your issue but the replacement valve did.Our Concorde 616 Cdi Sprinter fitted with the rear brake load sensing valve which, unbeknown to us, had partially seized and was the primary cause of an MOT failure. We had the rear brakes (discs and pads) changed at Mertrux (arm & a leg cost), but the brake retest was still an issue. Once the sensing valve was subsequently changed the rear brake failure was cured.
