We didnt pay much more then that for our WHOLE BL**DY VAN!!and @olley , unfortunately it is not just a lens, the whole unit has to be replaced, if as it looks like it has headlamp washers it is a £1400 unit
That's bloody ridiculous that is

I quote from a very heartfelt real life experience £1450 fitted, TW did try to get it as warranty but Hymer insisted from a photo only that it was 'clearly' a stone chip
Looks like as Exsis, same unit as B class there are no washers on it, buy in germany about €900, still very painful. Pleased our new Hymer has plastic headlamps.

Outrageous
I remember your thread on it I think.
so do I
I do also resurrect the discussion whenever I get a chance though
Its no wonder I am often so grumpy when posting, just recalling it again makes me cross
could have bought 100 half decent bottles of wine for that same amount

Easy to wise in hindsight but are plastic deflectors readily available?
Sorry I clicked post before I'd finished, if you can get a part number, it's worth phoning a few motor factors as I doubt Hymer get them made specially. I saw an OEM BMW rear light costing £200, cost £75 from a motor factors, you could not see the difference unless you were 6" away as it didn't have the same logo in the plastic.
Have you ever tried a gin and tonic?

no to point one
and to the rest, trust me I tried very hard before having no option but to give a UK Hymer dealer all of that money
They are a Hella make, but made exclusively for Hymer and can not be purchased directly from Hella
Worst of all is they are cheaper bought in Germany, at the time I decided the risk of damage in transit and self fitting wasn't viable
Having had a very bad fitting job by TW Hymer specialists, resulting ion having to remove it myself to refit, now I know how to do it I would buy from Germany or Belgium, but knowing my luck, being a RHD it will not be available outside the UK
the real problem is Hymer blame stone chips, it is stress that breaks them not impact, so a cover wouldn't help, other than removing the stone chip blame option to Hymer maybe
The most positive thing is that after 10 years Hymer have at last stopped fitting them
That makes the 2300€ we spent having the gearbox rebuilt by Fiat look like good value.and @olley , unfortunately it is not just a lens, the whole unit has to be replaced, if as it looks like it has headlamp washers it is a £1400 unit

When did they stop fitting them - I have recently bought a 2016 Hymer A class ML-L 580 do you know if it will have the "suspect" ones fitted?
I made some for the Exsis we had.I would HAVE to try, and make a poly-carbonate lens to fit. Those prices are TOO bad to be real. Worth the attempt as it is not really a lens just a cover.
Only plastic on the Dynamic Line and the new Exsis, I think the new Exsis is only available in Germany only been out a few weeks, same front end as Dynamic Line.I didn't realise they had until I read @Lenny HB post higher up, his is brand new though, but hope you got plastic as well, it really seems nearly criminal if there is a design issue and Hymer continue to take money off unsuspecting folk to mend it
