Woke up to find my Hymer headlight shattered. Was it a member on here that was repairing them?

I feel your pain having had it happen twice 🙁

I got my second one repaired by GWAYGWAY 👍

but yours looks like it is the newer style / shape and may have a different glass

my spare now has a plastic front and looks as good as glass 👍

If you have plans to be away, I could send you my repaired one till yours gets done 👍

with the washer option yours looks to have these units were £1500 4 years ago 😳 I bought my second through Chris at Reliance and saved £200 but fitted myself (or had it done )

You may be able to get one off the shelf from Brownhills in Newark who still carry a lot of Hymer spares. Obviously it wont be cheap however.

Thanks for the offer, no mine does not have the washer option. Am in Stoke on Trent at the moment. Not sure of the legality of moving with it obviously not at night. Got some appointments today though.

ours went in France, we drove home, booked the work with Travel World 🤬 had a weekend away before we went over to them without issue

I have now coated mine with plastic film LamX I think from memory , cost about £60 but peace of mind although I am convinced with so many failings it is a design issue

best of luck getting it sorted, if you fit it yourself , I had my second one done by a car repair shop friend who said tensioning was critical and could easily cause failure

if you don’t have washers or BiXenon like us it might be closer to £1000, still eye watering but not as bad as mine 🤔👍

I know the feeling. It will be the nearside glass as usual. My van was parked on the drive, cold and parked when it popped, I stood on the habitation step and I heard it crack. I'm still convinced it is the mounting, if it is too tight, when the bodywork moves, the light is put under serious pressure. Good luck getting it sorted.
