Just wondering if anyone has a Hymer electric heating blanket?
Expensive but hopefully a quality item.
To be used in the poptop to keep the kids warm this winter.

It's just a 12v electric under blanket so nothing particularly special about it as you can buy these anyway, you can also get fleece top blanket ones too which I think are better simply because you can use them if you're sitting around rather than just when in bed.

Bear in mind the power draw through as ideally they are really meant to be used when travelling to heat the bed up rather than have them on overnight.

Of course, you could also use hot water bottles. :giggle:

I wonder if they will drain your battery. Most kids don’t feel the cold too much,we were used to having ice on the inside of the windows (oh grandad not that old story again),and always got a good sleep after lots of fresh air and plenty of grub. :giggle:

Think I'll try the kids with hot water bottles this half term.
As with our old VW the Hymer poptop doesn't seem to gain any warm air from below. Fiat based Hymers can have an addition heat pipe from the floor air vent however as our Mercedes floor if not stepped it's not available.
Hot water bottles it is then!

You could get some heating piping and put it on one of the lower vents and feed it up into the bed area to blow some heat up there to take the chill off, it wouldn't have to be a permanent fixture, think of it along the lines of a vacuum cleaner hose that you put on/take off as required.

Or you could put it over the heater exhaust vent and into the tent.... That's nice and warm and only needed the first night.
