I'm a newbie bought our first motorhome 7months ago and love it
thining of having one fitted any advice on which system

We have the E&P system we wouldn't be with out it on the tag axle

We have E&P also. Cost today is between £5 & £6k.

Best man to buy and fit it for you is Mick Leightley of
Specialist Automotive Products Ltd
Unit 13
Wellsyke Industial Estate

I've had two quotes recently, one just under £5K and one just over. I shopped three different brand names but E&P certainly seem to be the outstanding product.

One supplier (cheaper one) is down in Sussex and the slightly dearer but more professional one is up near the NEC, Birmingham. They both require 20% with order , balance on collection.

E + P for me as well, as canopus we used SAP, expensive but great bit of kit

we have a remote control and also what seems to be sensible a link to our also new air suspension to dump air before levelling

expensive though, just paid around £5K as part of air suspension at same time total £9K

Why the air Susp David? Increase in pay load or less wallowing?

E&P for us as well, and Mick SAP fitted it, expensive but worth it if you are keeping the vehicle for a while.

We have glide right it was on the motorhome when we got it and is good.

We have the E&P system on our Tag, fitted by Rosmia in Sussex. Wouldn't be without it now.

We have E+P also fitted by Mick at SAP paid extra for remote control which is a must in my veiw

£20 Thule ramps for me. I was with someone over the weekend who had hydraulic rams. He deployed them - and they vanished into the grass! He needed to use the pads but couldn't be bothered. So he just spent the weekend at a slight angle.

Self-levelling air suspension on another 'van was brilliant. I would go for that over rams any day. I was also impressed by their "Cocker Spaniel" act, when the air suspension could be used to tilt the vehicle to get the last drops out of the waste tank!

Don't think you will get 3 inches of air underneath the front wheels with air suspension, and draining the last drops out of the waste tank is just a button on the wireless remote.
Plus it's dead handy if you need to change a wheel.

Depends on the vehicle I suspect. I should have taken a picture but the van I saw had easily raised itself 3 inches or more at the front. There was room for an owl to nest above the front wheel.

But horses for courses.

Ours comes with pads approx. 8" dia on each ram, first trip was to a dead flat Chester racecourse which was also very wet grass, so to be honest I was quite glad not to need them, I did fear major embarrassment, save that for another less busy site hopefully, or hopefully not. Maybe ours being brand new has different, or at least bigger feet

A major benefit I hope to have is no rocking when parked on sites, not that we do anything other than moving around ;), but being on the large side, when I launch myself in off the step there is some significant movement inside, the rams can be lowered down as steadies without the need to fully 'deploy'. Going back to my trip to Durness in January and in daft wind speeds I needed sea sick pills (I really did)

I do not want to sound like a proud father, or fall into the trap of praising simply due to the amount of cash handed over, but will be reviewing more fully when used on all surfaces, I will be particularly interested to see how they do perform on wet grass though, having said that we do not park on wet grass unless there really is no other option

My experience would suggest that if the rams sink into the ground the van would be in up to its axles anyway, certainly with the 8" feet that we have David, some other systems do have very small pads so possibly they might sink.

Glide -rite £3400.00 ,manual, it means you push 2 buttons instead of 1.If you have fully auto you will still have to get out and put blocks under jacks if very uneven

I reckon if it is that uneven you've picked the wrong pitch.

dont shoot me I'm only asking....Can see the point of full air suspension, but the levelling, why is it so critical....

Not critical, just a nice toy, will stop movement while parked which could be done with much cheaper steadies and means if not on EHU no need to even go outside on arrival, if full of water, park, press, relax (y)

My justification was spend a bit on my existing MH then I have to stop looking at newer units that I don't really need and cant really afford :D

Does nobody have the GlideRite system?

Are levelling blocks critical? Is even being level critical? Its a matter of choice and pocket I suppose, assuming you want to be level then there are the basic blocks or hydraulic leveling options, air suspension leveling is manufacturer dependent but still provides for a degree of rocking in adverse conditions. So I choose hydraulic E&P, not my choice, the factory option.

I thought about it but having had lots of other extra's on I became concerned about the payload left

Don't forget not only do they level the van but also you have no movement once they are down even in high winds but also you don't have to worry about when you get a puncture I can lift all 6 wheels of the ground at once so you can change a wheel in minutes also handy for greasing the alko tag chassis where the wheels have to be unloaded to do correctly

Any one tried these

Not even seen those before, guess they are not in the UK, looks like an electric motor system rather than Hydraulic.

How much, what weight limit.
They seem to be available on the continent, about £2500.00. They are electric motors but it looks like spring returns, not sure if they would pull up on a muddy field. ( Chester Racecourse ) They state a maximum 5500kgs for four, they are available in pairs just to stabilise but there is no information I can find in English, so struggling to read it.

Hi All,

I'm hoping to pick up my new MH this coming Thursday and was interested in all the comments regarding Tag and E&P levelling. As a newbie to motor homing would you still suggest that I should carry levelling ramps or planks?

V.B on a full air suspension system... (Tag Axle).. No need for levelling Jacks...

Give`s a fantastic road ride, and great for levelling up on site..

Nearest I can explain on the full air suspension is... If you have ever driven a lorry with an air seat or hydraulic seat.. the way they just glide over rough road`s....... That`s it... (y)

If I ever have to change a wheel for a puncture or what ever... let the man I am paying do it... (RAC & AA)..

.

Just dropped the MH off at Courtside Conversions at Tiverton for Jacks and Air Suspension to the rear. Detailed discussion where to put the pump and compressor, quick coffee and I'm off. Hopefully collect on Thursday and have a play.
