After my wife constantly complaining about the movement in the van, and the heated discussions and time consumed when parking up using leveling ramps, we've decided to opt for a hydraulic levelling set up. There seem to be various systems and various suppliers in the North West, namely:
  1. AS in Warrington - supply the HPC system
  2. Rhino Installs in Preston - HPC system and E&P Level M
  3. Armitages in West Yorkshire - Al-Ko HY4

The Al-Ko website also mentions a number of otherr installers, several of which seem to be non existent. Although Glossop Caravans is listed and is where we bought the van.

Any recommendations on best system, best supplier and pros and cons very welcome.

E&P are probably the most popular and have been well tested.
We've had them on our van for a few years and they’ve been excellent.
Don't know your area but friends have had them fitted by Rhino Installs and they also had them transferred to their new van by them.

Very happy with AS / HPC

They do not eliminate movement, especially with a couple of wheels off the ground.

Absolutely number 1 on your list, HPC fitted by AS. We’ve had ours for around four years now and they are brilliant.
No signs of corrosion on the legs, the bodies are powder coated, when I wash them they are like new.
Faultless operation in the time we’ve had them.
When we have the front wheels off the ground there is the very slightest of movement if on grass but nothing like the suspension movement you get without. You’re up on two steel poles basically. They’ll all be the same, some worse with the thinner legs.
The best accessory we’ve bought for our motorhome, constantly used, even when left in storage, parked in stabilise mode.

Having self levelling fitted this Saturday.

Being ‘down South’ I struggled to find a local fitter until a recognised provider (Wents Service Station) was recommended to me by my Habitation Service provider. Amazingly, they are only 4 miles from my house!

They fit both MaVe and Amplo, I’m having the Amplo fitted. The owner of the company had MaVe fitted to his Motorhome before Amplo became available, he advised that of the two, he prefers Amplo.

The main supplier/fitter of Amplo in the UK seems to be Towtal, based in Stoke-on-Trent (they also fit MaVe).

Both systems should cost £4750 fitted, no matter where you have it done. (Although there might by the odd affiliated discount of 5% out there).

We were the first MA-VE installation that Wents did and they mad a cracking job. I went with MA-VE as they were the only company with a 3 year European call out warranty

My installation with Wents was scheduled for 3 weeks ago but their dedicated fitter left the week before.
Wents does have other fitters who know how to fit the Amplo but, they will only use someone who has been specifically trained by Towtal.
Hence the reason I had to wait a further 3 weeks as opposed to a couple of days while they arranged to send someone to Towtal for a training day or two.
Very reassuring!
