Have managed to acquire a layer of tree sap on my roof and bonnet. Any help in ways of removing it appreciated.

Doesn't your chauffeur deal with this buttons?
Mine would but prefer to do it myself which is a good thing as my chauffeur is like n imaginary friend.

Amazed how well wd40 worked for me after a very sunny stay in a French pine forest. Leave it soaking for a few minutes and then wipe it off.

I just use straight alcohol .. Softens it up in moments and the with alcohol on a cloth it just wipes off.. Proly why the hand sanitiser works that shrek snr uses :-)

The very hottest water you can stand and washing up liquid and lots of elbow grease. Be aware though that the washing up liquid removes everything. Polish, wax etc so the paint will need waxing etc afterwards.
This is how we removed it when I worked in the bodyshop as a panel beater.

Once removed…..

1/ fell offending tree or
2/ park elsewhere or
3/ sell offending car

Sorted ::bigsmile:

He does but he is a bit on the short side making it difficult for him to reach the bonnet. :unsure:f
buttons interviews for chaufeur should have gone for the tall one

Car body tar remover.
Thanks for getting the popcorn ready Mr Buttons……..but I don’t like popcorn.

Perhaps I should have been more specific,I was meaning the stuff that AutoGlym sell as tar spot remover for cars,it works well.

Greetings from the Costa del Sol.
Just been around the back of the van and discovered tree sap.

I've found an immediate removal liquid that I bought a couple of days ago for another use but, hey ho! this is cheap enough and available everywhere over here.

Oh! Yes! The stuff to get is Alcohol 96percent. It's used over here as a cleaner and boy, does it work.
It also removes stray mastic from a new side marker fitment.
But that's another story.

I got a load on the van in Spain parked under a tree, used some methylated sprit which worked a treat, then just polished and waxed to seal. Have not been on the roof yet but can imagine its pretty covered.
