We had ants - an army of them, on the wind out awning. After closer inspection, I had used a ratchet strap tie down and they were marching up the peg, onto the strap and onto the awning.
I put ant powder down around the peg and just swept the strap and awning with a soft brush.
If you haven't got ant powder, you could try talc but you need to know where they're coming from/route in. I've seen some caravaners put powder down around the wheels and wind down legs but they could be coming in via the roof vent if you've parked beneath a tree.
you need to ensure all food crumbs/spillages are cleaned up immediately as well as that can attract them.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
Our garden has a couple of well established ant nests, various methods have been tried but they are a bugger to get rid of, there is a bright side to them though, we were invaded with blackly earlier this year, I noticed them all over our honeysuckle and roses, a couple of days later when I looked they had all gone, I noticed some ants removing the last few, so I guess I can live with them and fair exchange is no robbery. We were on a MoHo park and n central Portugal and a few vans had sprayed Nippon powder all round their tyres.

We were invaded in France in May last year and again two weeks ago at a park up in Siena.
The cause of the latest invasion was an empty ice cream carton left on the side for recycling then we went out for the day. First thing we did was to obviously dump the ice cream carton that attracted then in and then move away from the source of the ants. Hoovered what we could and then squashing them on sight for the next three days.
Basically if you don't want ants then don't invite them in by leaving a food source for them laying about.

I use nippon , a liquid to put drops in their runs and they take it back to the ant hill, not invasive but effective.

The many, many ants living on QMJ don't bother me at all.

They have everything they want around them and don't need anything from me or my van...

I believe ants have a right to life too...

Ants in the garden? Leave them alone. If you attack them, you'll displace them into your house. Don't try to battle them until they get into the home.

BTDT have beaten them back but now need to create a cordon sanitaire to slow future attacks!
