How Much !!!

A 2 night stay is getting very expensive
This group https://lovatparks.com/
Arriving 19th August, leaving 21st August, the cheapest pitch is £198.00
Unbelievable. If the website is anything to judge it by you'll be one of hundreds of people staying in one of hundreds of static caravans on acres of what was once beautiful coastal land until it was ruined by those slums of the future. There are no photographs of the accommodation, just staged photographs of people walking on beaches, the setting sun, a crab, and aerials of sand dunes.
They are static caravans, not holiday homes. The scourge of the British landscape.
What do you get for £198.00?

A hard standing pitch for a 6m motorhome with electric, Greenhill farm the nearest to us is a site we have stayed at many times under the 2 previous owners before it was sold to the present group, then it was sensibly priced.

I've just had a quick look for a couple of nights next week, granted I'm on my own but mh up to 7m with ehu has plenty of choice starting at £32 total.

Wonder if they have ramped up the prices for school holidays like lots places always have done. Your quote of £198 - I dread to think what the cost would be for a family.

As you own a very nice A Class motorhome why don't you try becoming a FLT? You might enjoy it and you'll be just as comfortable in your motorhome off grid as you would be on power. You just need to find a nice little spot off the beaten track and you'll get a nice warm fuzzy feeling knowing that it's all yours and no warden is going to come round and tell you to park two inches closer to the peg, and there'll be no children screaming at the playground, or loud neighbours swigging Chateau Cardboard and telling the whole campground what a great time they had at Centre Parcs. :reel:

£517.20 gets you an up to 9m motorhome on hard standing electric for a week commencing 7 August at their Green Hill Park site at present for a typical 2 Adults and 2 Children family.

Hurry though, they only have two spots left. They have no static caravans left in that period.

Cheapest available hotel on Booking .com in New Forest at the same time was £1300 - I did not look what was included other than the room, but it was not one that clearly said breakfast included.

Prices are rising, for some it’s clearly claw back time.

I feel sorry for those low paid frontline families (and there are lots) who may have been lucky enough to get a week off together (quite a few won’t have) during the school holidays because it seems even if they can afford it opportunities are already booked up at some quite high prices.

Or you could try this one for £100 a night. :Eeek:

<Broken link removed>
Just looked this one up- apparently there might not even be water available ( no ehu or waste disposal at the other sites) and having been up past that bit of coast I wouldn’t think there was much yo see/ do nearby... I am all for solitude and peace but even thinking about paying that much anywhere will see me sleepless for weeks

I hope you get a hire car and three square meals included for that price.

Go in September it's only £34 for two nights (y)

Just booked Thirsk Racecourse C&MC for 3 nights next week.
TOTAL cost (for a solo) for the 3 nights is £30.80!
Still some bargains about. 👍
Thank you for highlighting this one - just booked a couple of nights either side of Pickering.
I'm becoming a fan of Racecourse sites having just come back from Warwick & Uttoxeter.

You'll like Thirsk Stephen. Dog-friendly pubs in the square a few minutes walk away, except Wetherspoons of course.:(

its got to the point now were its cheaper to pay the parking fine of £30 on a car park than book a campsite.
I set off for a week in Northumberland last week knowing all campsites were booked up solid, parked up every night on carparks that stated NO OVER NIGHT PARKING, woke every morning expecting a ticket on the windscreen......not a one.
its getting to the point were councils are going to have to do something or this will just be the norm

I didn't see the bit where they are holding a gun to your head?

Did I miss that?

Or is this just another frenzy whipping thread?
