Can I ask, Why a new one every year? was there a problem finding your perfect layout, or was it six lucky numbers::bigsmile:

The 3 reasons on the 1st 3 vans were as follows:-

First of all i passed my test in an automatic car so i couldn't drive any vehicle with a
manual gearbox.
The layout was o.k on the Euromobil but because it was on a Fiat i had to have an
Auto-clutch fitted by Vehvac so that i could drive it legally.but i couldn't get used to
changing the gears as i had never had to do it.So after 9 months i got fed up with it
& decided to get a motorhome with a Autd-box.

I then swapped it for a Mercedes based Geist Phantom RL great van 30mpg but as the missus is disabled & was getting worse on her legs we decided to get a mobility scooter
so we needed a motorhome with enough storage space to hold the scooter so we
decided on the new silver Mercedes Geist which had a good rear locker to keep one
half of the scooter in & the rest was put under the bed.

The reason i changed to my present van is that the Fiat chassis is far superior than the
Merc chassis in stability & when Fiat eventually bought out a Auto box i picked the Swift
Kon-tiki 669 & ordered it.So far it's been a good choice.
But i have had my eye on the Regency by Elite B.

Didn't start Motorhoming until 2002 but the whole lot amounts to:-

1979 Sprite Alpine caravan
1992 Compass Reflection 430 Merit
1995 Compass Connoisseur 440/4
1999 Compass Rallye GTE 5.0 -4
2002 Compass Rallye 524
2005 Compass Classique 300
2006 Compass Castaway 500 LL

Funnily enough, we've been members of the Compass Owner's Club since 1992!
And I wonder why I never have any money!

It's a bit like a piece of string but I would guess at somewhere between 20 and 25 MPG. It's a small engine in quite a heavy motor and has to work rather hard!
