I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked. But curious to know actually how many Clubs there are? ie- Camping and Caravan Club, The Caravan Club etc

On our travels We have been using mostly Independent Camp Sites or official stopovers but have obviously come across Members only sites.

I am not going to ask which one is best to join as everyone has different opinions but you are more than welcome to state your case and why?

We prefer smaller Sites and preferably Rural/Semi Rural so We can go for walks with our 2 Jack Russells, so maybe someone could advise which Club would be best for us?

The two you mention both have "5 van" sites throughout the UK. They're called CS with the Camping and Caravanning Club and CL with The Caravan and Motorhome Club. There are other clubs but in terms of scale they are the largest.

Just bear in mind that these clubs are uk only, so are of limited use to the many of us who do not tour in the UK

I like the C&CC weekend DA meets and Temporary Holiday Sites, both of which are usually hosted in rural settings and cost about £10 a night. No electric or facilities other than fresh water and dumps.

There is also a Motorcaravanners Club. It organises rallies and has its own handbook of CLs but no big campsites (as far as I am aware).

Is a list of except organisations.
what do the number of exemptions held indicate and why are some permanent ? seems strange one of the big two is permanent and the other has an expiry date
