Getting more knowledge day by day
Took my Swift Sundance in for its MOT today. Glad to say it passed without advisories. I was chatting with the guy who tested it and he said that the total weight of the vehicle was 2420kg.
I thought that was a bit light as it has two lead acid leisure batteries, solar panel, blow up awning in garage, half a tank of fuel, half a tank of fresh water and everything else we normally carry for our trips apart from food and clothes.
As I had a little time before heading back to work I nipped over to our weighbridge, paid my fiver and got the ticket. 3000kg!?

So, can anyone explain why the two figures are so different? I am going with the weighbridge as it still gives us 500kg to play with but I am genuinely interested to know, if anyone can tell me why.

Well I don't......but the missus..........................................................

No we don't but I would have said the same if someone else posted this Nanniemate (y):giggle:

I had my mot on Tuesday and I noticed that the rollers were calibrated on 20/07/22. I can’t imagine that legal requirements on brake efficiency will be subject to poor maintenance

We I had my 7500kg RV I asked the tester the same question.
He said front axle 640kg rear axle 2400kg.
I think he got the message by the way I rolled my eyes.
One advantage.....makes the brake efficiency test a doddle at those imaginary weights.
