Any ideas?

Removed the fixing screw and the 2 retainer bolt heads

Probably now only sealant holding it. If Sikaflex has been used careful prising & a sharp knife will be needed.

But it.aopears to be in 3 sections, the base is silks flex to the roof and held by 4 screws, the top 2 sections I have removed the nuts and a screw - do they not separate. I can lift the whole.assembly a little but think the cable length won't allow it to lift off completely. I need to lift off the rear section to access the cable entry I think?

I agree but it's likely to have been filled with sealant.

I recon you slide the "domed bit" upwards (or back- just looked at the orientation)- but the trunking looks like it will prevent that:unsure:

As above.
You'll need to lift out the wires as far as possible then raise, and move to one side, the YT2 (trunking) to get it off.
YT2 could be sticky backed with double sided foam tape so will need resticking.

Why do you want to remove it ?

As others have mentioned, when I fitted our roof entry gland, I filled the whole of the interior up with Sikaflex to prevent any chances of water ingress. I know it was a bit OTT maybe, and just hope I never need to remove it to add further cables, but as they were both 6MM DI cables I could not imagine why I would ever need to.
PS: I haven't seen a roof cable entry gland like the one in the photo, but having removed all screws, I think its going to be a case of prising it upwards, ensuring if possible that there is some cable slack to allow this at both ends.
Good luck.

Thanks all, I agree with the comments and assumed that the dome section would lift/slide to separate the top sections but I couldn't get any movement on it at all even when the trunking was moved. I can lift the 2 sections together slightly and assume that there isn't enough slack on the cables to allow removal and I guess there may be a gland under the rear cover that is gripping the cables?

Re sealant - there is sealant at the end of the trunking and entry point into the gland but as far as I can see it hasn't been filled with same?

Will have another look tomorrow as I don't want to force it off in case it breaks and I don't have a replacement.

Reason for removal - I am looking to see if there is an easy route for a cable for a roof mounted 4G aerial without drilling another hole. Although it would need a side exit from the aerial and into the existing trunking to make use of this entry point I guess and most I've looked at seem to exit on the underside on the basis a hole will be drilled!

Congratulations to all who responded - as normal the pearls of wisdom were correct - the gland is full of sealant.

I managed to get a camera probe from the internal side to check and its pretty solid!

Alternative gland needed if an external aerial is fitted - just got to find a location where I can access the roof and lose the cable into a cupboard - its all pretty tight.

Take the plastic lid of the plastic trunking then you’ll get play on the cables to find out n do what’s needed
