As per these pics. This is the fitting of my sink tap. The tap has developed a leak. It's the tap unit itself. Not pipework.

My question is how do I undo it. Is it secure with screw driver then undo the nut?

Thought better ask here before diving in.

Ahh, that's cool.
I don't mind. Sometimes it leads to 'yeah but if the leak is 'this' then this is how you fix it....'

Ahh, thank you for that.
I haven't started googling yet and haven't removed the tap yet
My finger shows where the leak is

If you take the top of the tap off - usually a hex headed screw under a small removable cover - you can sometimes tighten up the cartridge. It's worth trying before replacing the cartridge. There's no need to remove the tap unless you are going to replace the whole thing.

im a plumber by trade and i dont repair taps anymore easier just to replace them no call backs that way under £40 from screwfix
£40 for a motorhome tap is cheap. I agree in principle with domestic taps, but the plastic, silly expensive ones in vans are easy enough to replace the cartridge or cracked spout. Both available as service parts

thats a domestic tap

Anywhere in particular for purchasing the cartridge?

If its the "O" rings on the swivel part leaking from what is left in the spout you will find that it comes off the bottom when you have the tap out, but I think Mitzimad is right with just bung a new one in as by the time you have done the "O" rings and the a cartridge you have spent the same and lets fave it it has done 12 or 13 years already.

I do agree.
Will likely try the recommended 'nip it up' and see what that does.
If that fails then I will likely replace but only after I've stripped this one down to see how it works.

You can buy a set of box spanners to remove the nut and to refit new taps, just screwing in the threaded rod when refitting won't be tight enough.

If you do decide to replace that is ...

I've got some long reach sockets that work well. Another vote for Screwfix taps I think the last one looked identical to the original Chausson one and cost about£25

My tap leaked from that area, I removed the top and then removed the cartridge, then the body unscrews and you can lift tap spout part off. I cleaned the lime scale off this and cleaned the seals, smeared with silicone grease and re-assembled and it fine now.
to remove tap simply remove this nut.

You can replace a MH tap with a normal domestic one if it's not a microswitch version, so don't go falling for the 'trick' to make you pay more for a specific MH tap as a lot are just normal domestic ones re-badged. Microswitch ones, however, are more expensive and unfortunately you can't get a domestic alternative.

Only things to check are that the hole size is the same and that the bar rating is correct.

Its the same tap as in my Hymer and also some Dethleffs. Ours has a microswitch so can't replace with any old tap.
