Please, how do I delete a reply to a post prior to pressing the Post Thread button.

Just press the back button, above the shift button on my android, this will clear any text

Can't you just press your back button (left arrow at top left)? Takes you back to your previous page before you typed the post

Edit - beat me to it

highlight everything
(cntl A)
and then delete

Lost me..... You can't post to a thread which hasn't yet been made live (posted)

If you mean delete a post when you changed your mind before posting either highlight the text and then delete (X) or close the thread altogether.

I think the forum software auto saves your text in the reply box, but it doesn’t post it until you press ‘post reply’. I’ve come back to my iPad hours later and found the text waiting to sent.
On occasion, if I get diverted before completing a reply, or if I decide not to post what I’ve written, I use the delete button on my iPad, which backtracks and deletes each letter one at a time.
Once the reply box is clear, I know there is nothing in there that can be posted inadvertently.

Have you written something naughty you need to tell us ?
No, but I sometimes write a reply, then decide that no one will be interested. If I delete by going back, my reply is still there if I open the thread again.

Try deleting the text, enter something simple such as a full stop or comma and press save. It means that whatever you save will still be there but not your original text.

If you don’t want to post a reply. When you open the post again, just be careful not to press post. What you have written will disappear eventually.

I’m always having to delete text on my iPad as I am forever hitting the quote button while scrolling through.
As Kingham said I just use the delete button.

This is what I do. After posting you can't delete all your text as the system won't allow a blank post. If you try this after an hour of course you won't be able to edit it at all so just use the report post button and explain to Jim why you want the post deleted or edited. :)

Me too... but eventually it seems to disappear.

Delete the text you have typed and replace with a single word such as ‘error’, then post.
