I’m sure I have read that it’s possible to side load a Freeview app to my Amazon firestick. I have managed to find a download site via Google and download a Freeview app but it doesn’t work as it appears that it’s an Australian version.
I have the Firestick working OK on my Avtex tv using my phone as a hotspot, I can receive bbc iPlayer and my Prime subscription etc. just need a link to get the UK version of Freeview. Any useful help would be welcome.

Thanks I will give it a try, same site as I used before but a different a web address.(y)

That url does load Freeview but on launching asks for a location, ie postcode but only shows space four four digits/letters plus not able to enter any details. I have been here before and it was suggested that this may be the Australian version. Tried to use without entering a location but no joy

Has anybody managed to side load Freeview onto a Firestick and get it working? I persevered with the .apk file in the link, downloaded a mouse .apk to enable me to enter details into the 4 digit postcode box and managed to get the Australian Freeview TV guide. I think it must be possible to get UK Freeview just need a valid url.

Why do you want freeview, don’t the channels have there own app’s
😄That’s what I was going to ask.

Often the channel’s dedicated app is a better way to get their content than a general single source too.
Based on my using Sky v Apple v Amazon apps usage for BBC CH5, etc. content

Firstly thanks to Figaro for his suggestion, I managed to copy the app from my phone via the link he sent. Then thanks to you all for your suggestions which on configuring the Freeview became obvious that the stand alone TV downloads also give access to live channels. All sorted now (y)

I had the same results as per the screen ratio. After suggestions from others I downloaded the BBC etc channel apps and indeed you can watch live TV. Didn’t realise this as I’ve only ever used the apps for catch up. I use Freeview on my phone to view the the listings. Amazon are supposed to be releasing a firestick with Freeview built in later in the year, I will wait and see if this works rather than spending any more time trying.

Think you are correct, spending too much time surfing web for apk's, like you will wait for Amazon to do there stuff, can watch live tv its just easier just to flick from channel to channel as appose to closing and opening apps, also have Kodi on my Firestick but not stable enough for live tv.

Cheers
