Rapido & Bongone
I've a Rapido 604. tank in book is 120l another review says 120l.
Ist time of filling i just filled untill it overflows (advice on here) the floor got flooded and water came out of inspection cover. After finding the overflow goes over the top of tank before down i bought a gardena flow meter.

Recently i filled up an almost empty tank (both tank taps had been opened) with 75l of water and wandered around to check the tank (under seat no point in looking at the CBE meter) the floor was swimming again. What size of tank is it? options
do i need to fill it up from the inside 10l at a time.
rig a float switch and buzzer to indicate when filling.

or any one used these or reccomend something else?

has any one built and used an arduinoproject using
ultrasonic sr04 modules

There could be valve in the tank that stops you traveling with a full tank because of a restricted pay load.

Sounds like a crap system if the inspection hatch isn't sealed.
I assume it's just a cover and not a screw hatch like proper motorhomes.

Mine has never been more than half full...even when parked. Don’t want to bend the chassis ;-)

When we first filled our van (new) I thought this takes a while then found the lockers half full of water, they missed tightening the big cap on the water tank when they failed to do the PDI, then again they missed a lot of things ☹️

My proper ( Hymer) motorhome has a screw hatch, and even after renewing hatch and seal still leaks if overfilled. Makes filling a two person job.

The first, and only time, I asked my lady friend to help with the filling she managed to overfill the tank and for the first time ever the top of the water tank got wet, in a Hymer B584. Mild cursing and mopping up  was followed by the best toilet flushing I have ever had in the van during my six years of ownership :D2

Happened to me too the very first time I filled the tank. Turned out all I need to do was tighten the lid on the tank and all has been fine since.
Same here with the last van. Re-tightened and was ok. This van takes about 240 litres which is nice but an age to fill... and yes, I travel with the tank full on many occasions; payload is over a tonne and I can’t tell the difference when driving

My Rapido has two screw down inspection covers and neither leak. I always fill till it overflows. I think it holds 120l but have never measured it.

My Hymer had the inspection/pump-change screw-fit lid and provided it was screwed down good and tight, it was completely water tight. I had a tap on the overflow so I could really over-fill it. My square tank almost round when I decided she was full :D

As the other rapido (not a real motorhome?) it has 2 screw inspection hatches, tight enough to pressurize but not too tight to hold the overfill. I dont intend trying to replicate an overfill to see where its coming from/going to.
Reallyretired where is the overflow pipe , does it cross over the top of the tank?

Yes across the top of the tank then down through the floor. It only overflows when completely full but then siphons out a couple of litres before it stops. I have always filled till it overflows as the guage indicates full long before it actually is.

Thanks. Yes my gauge is totally pointless too.
My caps are only hand tight, so could be problem or even the sensor cap (not easily accessible )?
Just checked there are o rings on the caps, so missing o ring not the problem

Most motorhome fresh water tanks have an overflow fitted near the top of the tank and when filling the tank to the brim water starts overflowing down onto the ground to let you know its full. That's been the case for many years and you should not need to watch a gauge when filling up with fresh water unless things have changed for the worst.

Had an Exsis I and that would leak through inspection cover if filled to overflow, found best way to fill was when gauge reached full turn off tap.
Never had a problem after using that strategy.??

my rapido has a 300ltr fresh water tank and the seals are seriously tight and dont leak when full

I have a Rapido 9048 df and don't know what the capacity is, I just stick the hose pipe in till it overflows as well.
Anyone know what it dose hold, I can't find out from the manual.

Mine are only hand tight, though as they are quite big it's possible to get quite a good grip, they have o rings and dont leak, perhaps ypu need new o rings or there is something preventing them from sealing properly.

My tank is 120 litres but rarely has more than 40 litres of water in it.

My Rapido has a 300litre fresh tank, i always travel full when going on our xmas break and it doesnt make any difference to me. I never fill it when i am in the uk as i only normally ever go way for the weekend here. It also has 2 inspection caps which did leak last year as they were split but i got them replaced, one at the dealers and one i did myself as it was the day before i was going away at xmas for 3 weeks. Both split around the seal so i am assuming this was down to pressure, since having them replaced it has not happened again but then i have not filled them up to teh 100% mark since replacing the last one so wont really know till this xmas again :)

Ours is 120 litres. Fill point is behind the service hatch door and you fill it through a cap on the side of the tank till water comes level with the bottom of the filler or water overflows.
The tank is also semi transparent so you can see the level of the water as it fills.
No overflow pipe ( not necessary) so no chance of getting the inside of the van wet, even if you fill the tank to overflowing.
