Bought one of those Rheinland gizmos that allows direction connection with a Hozelok fitting. But I’m not convinced that it want damage the tank through over pressurisation. The water does come out when it fills up but a lot of water then shoots back out of the filler cap when you disconnect, which to me suggests it’s inflating the tank.
Anyway I found a really simple solution with a good old elastic band…….

Mine's terrible for it. I have to turn the tap on slowly or it blows the hose out of the hole.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction... Always remember that. You heard it here first 😎😝

I agree ref the pressure build up for MHs/campers which don't have a proper overflow but instead rely on the excess water coming out through a small hole in the filler rim, they simply do not work 'safely' IMV. We had an issue with a vented Heosafe connector which didn't allow any blow-back via the filler 'hole' and not enough via the overflow hole so instead meant that once the tank was full the excess water was pushed out and through one of the top inspection caps and caused flooding to the inside of the camper, after that we never attempted to use it again.

My solution involved a coat hanger 'hook' and worked very well indeed with our PVCs and now with our A-class:

Personally I just stick the hose in the hole with no fittings..
Me to, 3 Motorhomes 13 years never had a hose fall out.
Whilst you can do that on many MHs on some PVC conversions the pipe has a sharp bend in it just behind the filler so it's impossible to push the hose in sufficiently for it to stay put.

You are not poking it in the hole far enough, a man of your age should know that.

I just shove it in deeper. It seems to work 😂🤭🤭.

Not so simple but I like it 😄

Doesn’t happen on our PVC, just stick the hose in and let it fill up., but then again it is a Hymer 😉

Where's the water tank?

Been to my magic shed and made something 😇

Peice of ½" A/C pipe with a couple of bends on it with a ring of ⅞ pipe crimped round it and brazed on. Locks in great 👌

15mm plumbing pipe might be better for most hoses but my pipe is small 🥺🥸

Made up for by the very large 'sticky-in' bit though!

Where's the water tank?
It’s on the offside rear and holds 100 litres as does the grey waste. I just put the hose in and do other things until it’s full.

I was in France once and rammed my hose in to deep and the end fell off!
35 degree heat and I was sweating

How does that attach to me “watering can” 😂

I have TWO simple to use "gizmos" to hold the hosepipe when filling my tank...

They fit on the end of my arms and are called...

Hands.

JJ

What type of hose do you use?

Ha.... I always get wet when filling up🚿🚿🚿

It’s a blue food grade one with a ‘hozelock’ style end on it just place it into the inlet turn the water on and leave it.

I fitted a genuine Bullfinch hozelock connector and ran it to a toilet style fill valve so it turns itself off when full. I just plug it in and go back later to remove it. No need to pay any attention. (I can also bypass the valve to get an extra 20 litres in).

Ah, I thought you meant you were able to push the 'naked' hose into the filler and down into the inner pipe, that's where the kink is that prevents this on many rear bed PVCs where the water tank is on the side rather than on the floor or underneath - have you tried putting a 'naked' hose in?

We use one of these, when it's full the water comes out the overflow, but I normally hear the air before that happens and turn it off. 😎 Bob.

The tank is in the same position as you describe but the way Hymer have plumbed it in there is no kink to date we have not used a ‘naked’ pipe. I can see how that would work though.
