A few years now
Many of us had to miss this one in 2020 but we look forward to returning to the lovely Highlands End Campsite https://wdlh.co.uk/holiday-parks/highlands-end/motorhome-touring-pitches/ ,with views of & footpaths to West Bay, Eype beach, Bridport & Golden Cap, in 2021 :h:

Join us on this Meet for the company (at a safe distance) of friendly fellow Funsters in this well appointed campsite in a fab location.
For those that like music festivals, this was to coincide again with the Jurassic Fields Festival (a walk downhill & short taxi hop back up) in Bridport which has some great acts & affordable ticket prices so an added bonus but this Festival has now had to be postponed until 8-9 July 2022 - we hope to have a Meet again at this time next year 🤞
A large number of pitches were booked by those who postponed from last year & the remaining pitches filled up quickly (now fully booked) as campers currently there rebook before leaving the site so always best to book as soon as the Meet details are posted. Please note that Highlands End don't allocate pitches so you choose from what's available of your booked type on arrival & because of this we don't have an allocated Fun area so mixed in with other campers but we are never far from other Funsters & the more that come along then that helps create more Fun spirit on the campsite  Quite a few campers join Fun while we are there each year & many comment on how friendly we all are.

Prices for 4 nights including EHU is from £84 for solos or £96 for couples on a grass pitch or £109.20 for solos or £121 on a gravel pitch or hard base pitch. The hard base pitches tend to be smaller but do each have their own water tap & grey waste drain which the others don't but there is a dedicated drive up motorhome service point & lots of water & waste points on the campsite. If choosing a grass or gravel pitch you are more likely to have a view of the coast or countryside but this is not guaranteed & depends on what is available on arrival so bearing this in mind Funsters can arrive from midday so earlier than the normal 2pm arrival time but please be patient if ground staff are still cleaning the pitches or cutting grass. No matter where you are pitched it's just a short walk to stunning views. This price includes 2 adults, motorhome, awning or well pegged down Quest mesh screen house (gazebos not normally allowed) and car. Booking these 4 nights currently includes 10% off their per night prices as more than 3 nights & early booking. As they are guaranteed to be fully booked at that time of year there was no room for negotiation on these pitch prices but they have agreed again to one dog to be free per booking (maximum of two dogs allowed on each pitch) for Funsters for this Meet - at this time of year this saves £3 per night & the one dog free offer also applies for the duration of your stay if you extend your Meet booking to more nights so could be quite a large saving for some (y) Booking longer stays or weekdays only can work out a little cheaper per night & most years quite a few extend their stays.

If you would like to join us then book online here https://wdlh.co.uk/motorhomes-touring-caravans/ & in the Special Instructions box please put Motorhome Fun then your forum name then 1 dog free if applicable:
e.g. "Motorhome Fun Wombles 1 dog free"
Don't add a dog to your selections on the booking unless you are bringing two then one needs to be added & paid for.
If any general queries then post on here or message us :active: but if to do with your booking then call Jo or Hana at Highlands End Booking Office on 01308 426947.
Once booked please let us know so we can add you to the forum list of attendees - if you want to give us your first names plus type of pitch that is helpful so we have an idea of where Funsters are but not essential.

Like other Funsters we are likely to say hello :hi: :hi: (socially distanced) as we wander around but that's all so no pressure to join in with anything. Normally everyone is invited to meet up in the campsite bar or beer garden (subject to Government guidelines allowing this) on the first & last nights to get to know each other but no obligation to do so.
Please note that whilst the campsite is very dog friendly Jurassic Fields Festival no longer allow dogs.

As us all gathering together is unlikely to be an option & we will be spread around the campsite (never far from a fellow Funster though :hi: :hi: ) maybe make a sign or download, edit & print this version https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/resources/rally-name-badge.66/ or this one https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/resources/smiley-rally-badge.228/ ) with forum &/or first names to display in your motorhome if you don't already have one. For anyone new to get a Fun sticker (tax disc type for your windscreen) just send a stamped addressed envelope to:
Motorhomefun STICKER
Jasmin Lodge
Crabtree Lane
Sutton on Sea
Lincolnshire
LN12 2RS
As many already know, these really help us all spot each other & have some friendly socially distanced chats :)

Just got home. And just before the heavens opened so great timing.

Thanks Wombles for organising and to the Funsters we chatted to. Great weather too. Lovely scenery, some steep hills to climb and a decent pub nearby. What's not to like?

Edit = this should be on the 2020 thread. Sorry

UPDATE: For anyone considering this please see the booking instructions on the first post as we are delighted to advise that Highlands End have agreed that Funsters can have one dog stay for free again for this Meet in July 2021  For everyone already booked & bringing a dog please make sure you have a note of one dog staying free on your booking - please call Jo or Hana at Highlands End Booking Office on 01308 426947 quoting your booking reference if you need to have your booking updated.
In what has been a tough time for the leisure industry we think this is a kind offer & an endorsement of how well Funsters have conducted themselves there which was especially important this July (y)

Hi All - good news in the post above if you are planning to bring a dog to Highlands End  - more details in the first post which has been updated now.
We haven't got a dog but as a true Yorkshireman I might see if someone will lend me one so that I can take advantage of this free offer ;)

Got to love a full facilities site (presuming all will be brighter next year) - there's even a dishwasher now!

West Dorset Leisure Holiday

We have installed an Easy Be Dishwasher in the toilet & shower block at Highlands End Holiday Park - it's just £1 to use and it takes just 5 minutes!
Plus it's more sustainable, saving water and energy!

Hi Karen, I have just emailed WDLH asking them to put my credit from this year's booking over to next year. I had initially hoped to get to Highlands End later this year, but that has not proved possible. I tried phoning to make the change, but was directed to email as the phones are extremely busy. I will confirm with you when I hear back from WDLH that the booking has been made.

Facebook post from Highlands End today "This is to let you know that bookings for next year are filling up across all of our parks for 2021 – we would recommend you booking soon if you wish to secure your dates."
