Hi,
Just joined from a recommendation by Pete of AS bikes.
Pete said everything I need to know about travelling through France will be on here!
Got lots of good tips from some of the Facebook forums, have the Aire books and France Passion.
Off for the first time in a Motorhome on Friday 16th June (next Friday). Probably stay in one of the Le Touchet Aires, any of them better than the other? Then onto Dieppe as I want to visit the WW2 museum there about the Dieppe raid in 1942.
Thanks for any comments, Bob

Hello and welcome :WelcomeFlag:we tried to get into le Touquet last summer it was chock a block full and some MH were taking up space with awnings chairs and tables!( not English I might add!!) so left no space.
Hopefully you will be fine at this time.
Have a great trip and safe travels. Plenty of great aires about and car park space at the museums have parking spaces for MH . Best to try and get on the aires in the early afternoon as they can get busy in the summer.

France is a great place for motorhomes (currently in Burgundy) and you should have few problems finding places to stop. However it's probably best to avoid coastal places last 2 weeks July, first 2 weeks August as that's when France goes on holiday. Also try to get parked up by 4.00 pm, earlier if you can. Getting off the main routes too is a good idea; we've found some lovely aires by simply looking 5-10km off our route.

You may want to consider ACSI - sometimes it's nice to stay on a "proper" site for a couple of days for laundry, washing etc. You will save the cost in the first few nights you use it and sometimes they can be cheaper than the so-called commercial aires.

But please don't stay on motorway "aires" - they're aires de service, not aires de camping car and can be dangerous for overnighting.

Thank you Terry, have seen ACSI mentioned a lot of Facebook forums, but haven't joined yet. Will look into it right now!
