We have made a momentous decision today .
We will never be coming back to the Rivera area of France in the van , just to much hassle and lack of Aires and too many motorhome no go areas and expensive to boot, we shall stick to the west and the top of Spain where we know we are welcome.
Seems final I know but we are not getting any younger and time marches on and not enough left for hassle.

Drive west beyond Marseille to Carro.
Nice aire with great sea views but not a lot of space between vans. The bays are all marked out.
Then drive across the Camargue and on towards Narbonne. Loads of Aires both on the coast and inland.
We are sitting beside the Canal du Midi at the moment and the weather has been perfect for the last two weeks.

now this is a strange aire , this morning it came up on park4night it is a car park on the beach that has barriers till the 15th of September but then are opened for motorhomes, there are 6 of us on here but all the others are French but when I tried to find it on p4n to put a link on its disappeared, bit of a strange one but it is a genuine one and absolutely brilliant, one side sea other side shops and bars , if you are going to be in this area put it down, its a cracker , room for loads more.

Don't think so mate, we might try a bit of mountains from here but will come down to the canal midi route to Bordeaux, got one or two places we have to be up the West side.

Hi @chaser would you recommend booking this site or was there plenty of space looking at early October

We didn't book , just rolled up, plenty room they seem to come and go not a lot of long stayed, we don't really do sites but found this one very good, sort of family run and all very pleasant, the shuttle bus for us was the main thing as we wanted to go to ventimiglia market on the Friday and menton on Saturday, 2euro50 each each way but you just ring them when you are ready to come back and they are there in 15 mins.

Yeah and nice and San remo the other way or to the station.

Not many ambulances do unless they happen to die on the way to hospital, no dead bodies are loaded on to ambulances, if you look on eBay you can buy dead body vans, have no windows in

I had a converted ford Granada herse back in the early nineties and an old zephyr one I never got round to completing.

Never bothered me ...they dead they can't hurt you.
As long as they ain't sleeping in it at the same time what's the worry

Went for three hours yesterday, same again today.

Not had much to report for three days, came over the Pyrenees in most and slight rain couple of free aires but now back down in the sun below borduex at another free aires after trying a campsite in Spain last night, load of rubbish , 26 euros for nothing, not as good as any aire we have been on.

Been spoilt for choice today for Aires been on four or five all in a small area ,duck farm, a couple of chataux a couple in the tcentrr of villages in the end settled on a small one by a lake, only us here.
The difference between here and the med area is in believeable.

We stayed the night in a small lay
by last night thanks to park4night, this is the view this morning

we are now in honflur not had a look around yet to see if any funders here.
Out for meal tonight, probably the last meal out on this trip as we head for the tunnel for Monday.

Been a walk found , 4 brit vans altogether, a couple of others but no one about, no funster stickers on any of them.
