has anyone tried to close a deutsche bank spain bank account

I am trying, but they say i have to visit the branch in Marbella

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had similar dealings before my brain explodes

Thats Spanish banks for you...

We are with Bankia.. I updated their app on my phone, it lost my log in so unable to acccess, after 3 attempts it locked me out. Said i had to visit branch to re-set !!! Pain in the Ass...

sounds about par for the course. Even with my bank if I go in another branch they won't let me do things & tell me to go to my own branch. Even if I want to change branches you can only do it A) by going in your own branch & B) only if they agree??????
soI don't doubt that they want you to attend. If it was me & there were no dd's or so's I just clear it all bar a euro & leave it.

Yes indeed . That is why we are closing the account Because they blocked our card and said we have to go to the branch

I am waiting a refund off the Spanish taxman (18 months so far) after a property sale and they have these bank details. So need the account left open. Buggers are charging me €15 a month just to have it open and dont seem bothered when i ask about any reduced fee's :(

IF and WHEN the funds come in. I will soon be over there for the withdrawal and close the account..
CANT WAIT... (y) ;)
Got a lovely garage in my Burstner all ready to accept cheap Spanish booze.

Since we sold up 2 years ago i have used our account only for debit card use. No issues thus far. Don't really need it now but having an addition DC is handy. Bankia, been with them since the 5 banks amalgamated.
