Hi guys need some assistance on how to book the channel tunnel. Thinking of going last 2 weeks of June 2022, probably going to tow our little car either as a toad or on a trailer. What do I need to enter in the booking info?

Cheers!

Russ

Just put motorhome then when it asks put trailer.

I'd suggest you use a trailer then add it as such on the booking.

(Others will say A-frame is perfectly legal, but that's not part of what the OP is asking)

I don’t know your circumstances but going for only 2 weeks would you need to take a car, we find when touring France using Aires we don’t need a car.

We have decided to not take the toad. We plan to ultimately pitch up in Bezier, near ish to Marseilles and Carcassonne. We plan to take a couple of days to get there and stop at a couple of Aires on the way down and on the way back. After some research I realised that we would be better to hire a car when we got to Bezier, a Renault Twingo will cost about 150 euros for 12 days. That makes it cheaper than the additional Chunnel costs for the toad, eliminates the potential legality hassles of toading in France, makes it more likely that Kathryn will share the driving there n back, means I can cruise at my natural gait of around 70mph when conditions allow, etc. etc. We plan to stay in the citadel at Carcassonne for at least one night and Bezier is about 50kms away, we like to park up, set up the MoHo, awning etc. And mosey around in our small car exploring. Exploring in the MoHo is stressful when trying to park, and security issues, real or imagined, freak me out. Coupled to this we have two Samoyed dogs, which Kathryn insists we take everywhere, except when we visit a beach or something similar. So small car n MoHo combo works for us.
When we retire, in around 10 years time, we fully intend to do a 90+ day tour of Europe, so we’ll take a toad with us then, just hoping that in 10 years time all this 90 days Brexit BS has been seen for the stupidity it is and the respective national governments have seen the light!

Anyway that’s the situation up to press!

Cheers!

We stayed at a campsite (ACSI) at Trebes which is on the Canal Du Midi about 8 miles East of Carcassonne, it has good connections to the lovely city.

Cheers

You probably need to check that you are allowed to take your dogs in the hire car🤔

Hire car firm I’m going to hire from has no restrictions on dogs. But a good shout nonetheless.
