im a noob
Hello everyone... I don't know if this is the right place to post this and apologise to the OCD aficionado's now before I start....

Having recently just purchased my MH and getting to know it ( so far un-named but much loved) and having worked away through a couple of teething problems...( coolant gauge...water and waste tank levels..) I noticed a sticker on the rear screen saying ' Protected by Communicar' with a phone number...
I also had a receipt from a car alarm specialist ( I will not name) for key fob programming ..

Apart from that I had no other documentation regarding alarm system or anything ..

So as I was curious to find out exactly what has been fitted to the vehicle so that I could check if batteries had been changed, fobs work as they should etc etc.. Didn't want to be on my travels and all of a sudden everything stopped worky worky on me...

I sent an email to Communicar and an email to the un-named alarm specialist giving details about vehicle and any info I could find..

It is a Meta system, I had 4 key fobs, a code card and the receipt from the alarm specialist from 2009.

I really didn't expect much back tbh as I thought it was installed 11 years ago going by the receipt...
However the alarm specialist emailed me back basically saying they don't know anything and if I send the main module back they can recode at a start of £125...
As I didn't even know how it was tied in or have any documentation I was starting to think I would have to take it somewhere to get it looked at... didn't want to inadvertently immobilise the vehicle....

OUT OF THE BLUE I received a phone call from a gentleman called Phil Lewis from Communicar who had all the details about the system, even the name of the person who originally wanted it installed....20 YEARS AGO......
Phil talked me through the system as I was out there with the key fobs....

I would just like to say that today was a realisation again on how there are still people out there who go out of their way to help when it would have been so easy to have put it to the side....

So a big thank you to Phil lewis at Communicar

Wow. So pleased you got it sorted.

I paid £20 to have my alarm documents transferred over to me a few years ago by the company that installed it on my van before I bought it..... but don't know what the benefit is.. I think a fee seems to be normal but yours was very high. Glad you got it sorted.

Well I’ve read that 5 times now I can’t see any correlation with that and the Hair Bear Bunch😉😁😁

Glad you’re sorted👍

I really really don't know why I thought of that as a thread header....

Why are thread headers so much more time consuming and difficult to phrase than the actual detail.....

Easily done :giggle:
Oh, and because of the reference to bears it should have been started in the Pets section of the forum
