Helmsley (N Yorks): free overnight parking (1 Viewer)

Driving through this delightful market town I spotted a sign saying “Motorhome Parking” just to the north of the town centre on the B1257 to Stokesley (another lovely market town). An abrupt change of direction brought us to the Cleveland Way CarPark where there are 6 dedicated MH parking spots which are FREE OVERNIGHT (1830-0900).

A super secluded location with easy access to the town centre.

Rydale District Council state “At Cleveland Way in Helmsley, between the hours of 6.30pm and 9.00am, there is capacity for up to six motorhomes to park free of charge in the overflow car park. Drivers must park their vehicles in the parking bays. Normal parking regulations apply between the hours of 9.00am and 6.00pm.”

It looks like it has a 2.5m limit. Not a problem for me, but will be for a few.

Or have they done something with the side entrance?

I was there a couple of weeks ago, no height restrictions.

Really nice old town and a market on a Friday, access to the Cleveland way.

You can stay all day for 6 quid.
