Hi
Whenever I use either the heater blower or air-con in my 2010 Peugeot Boxer, The air smells, it is not a particularly unpleasant smell, quite sweet in fact. I guess it is some sort of contamination in the system.
I have looked at products on line and most are the 'bomb' type, which are placed in the cab while the system circulates the product. However, with such a large habitation/cab area, I cannot see that being very effective. I think I want something to spray into the heater inlet air-box.
Have any of you tried any of these products and how successful were they?

HI

Never had to top up coolant. The smell could be better described as sickly sweet, I know what you mean about antifreeze, but it is not that.😷

I once took my car for an air con recharge.
I took it back to the garage a few days later as it smelled when the air con had been on.
All they did was put the air con on blowing through the vents , set the dial to recirculate rather than to draw air in and then used an anti bacterial spray into the air vents.
I asked them what spray to use and they suggested me buying a Dettox anti bacterial aerosol. Each year I empty a can into the vents. Just be careful that it is a liquid air spray so vapour does accumulate around the stereo unit/electrics so be careful when pointing the nozzle near to the stereo.
Try squirting into the blower intake.
Leave the blower running after you’ve done so with the aerosol to help circulate and so it drys any liquid vapour.

That sounds like the product I want. I will do further searches. Thanks

You can buy AC coil cleaner, Google it there's loads. The stuff we used was a dark blue colour.

Just carried out a search for 'AC coil cleaner' and all the products appear to be for cleaning the condenser matrix. Pretty sure that is not my problem. Thanks anyway.
