I need to adjust the headlights on my 2014 N + B Arto 88F ready to go abroad. I have 4 small round headlights which I assume are one pair for dipped and one pair for main beam.

Any suggestions? I can't see that stick on blanking patches will work on these small lights!

Hi Robert

I think they re the same Hella's that we have, if so -

If you look at the back of the dipped beam headlamps you will see 2 screws in slots and one screw at the top of the headlamp with a choice of 2 holes. Remove the top one and loosen the other two until you are able to turn the headlamp so that the other top hole lines up.

What I tend to do is just turn the left one so it then doesn't matter where I am they will be pointing inwards. As I rarely drive it at night its only really tunnels or bad weather where I need to use them and they re perfectly adequate for that.

Jon
btw stickys arent a good idea as it can damage the lens.

Hi Robert

If your don’t have the screws that Jon describes there might be a knob to turn as I have seen this on some hella 90mm lights.

Before you do anything check the light settings, point the van at a wall on dip beam.
You don't say if your van is LHD or RHD, if bought in the UK and LHD they often don't change the lights but just set them to flat dipping if so not worth changing.

So prompted by this thread I thought I had better do ours as we are in €Land, much easier if you can take the surround off and the unit out.

This shows the screws to slacken and the one to remove,

You need to lift the unit to clear this tab from its socket before it will all turn, I always thought it was a seal holding it but just seen this.

I follow the policy of the thousands of EU trucks arriving into uk daily ......

Do nothing.

I can adjust the lights to point down from the dash button .... which is more than most EU truckers do in UK.

Are you going to be driving abroad at night, if not then why worry adjusting your headlight.
as well as when raining it is a legal requirement in Spain for using them in tunnels and also roadworks.

That just adjusts for rear weight not for dipping down and to the left.

Sorry Lenny that was an oversight and one I complain about when people don't give enough info to help them out!

Its an N + B Arto88F RHD ordered from and supplied by Travelworld in the UK.

Probably be RHD lights, once set to flat dipping you can leave them like as acceptable in the UK.
If you have the classic Hella lamps adjument will be like Martin explains. If it's the later type there is a leaver on the back of the unit you just need to move.

I dont need to take my headlamps out, it takes about 5 minutes per side from under the bonnet

Because yours are “stacked” either side of the bonnet Jon some that are arranged horizontally can be a royal pain apparently.

Well I had the grill and light trims off and virtually took the lights out which were very difficult to access.

I could find no visible means of adjustment. I am convinced that they are sealed LED units which I imagine have to be replaced if they pack up. I hunted high and low on the Hella website looking at all the different lamps and the information and help and there was none for this issue!

I gave up and stuck a bit of tape on the outside to obscure the kick up in the light pattern to the left!

Many thanks for all the contributions but it seems the later Arto vans are not adjustable.
