At the beginning of Feb. we'll head south until the Spring arrives in Central France so if the weather forecast is OK we'll head along the north coast of Spain from Irun to A Coruna and then head south along the Atlantic coast into Portugal. Then steadily head south via Porto, Lisbon to the Algarve. So the question is do you know of any must see towns/places in northern Portugal, not too far inland, good aires etc, special places to wildcamp for a night or two?

We know that this may not be the best time of year to visit so we're ready to cut our losses and head south at full speed should the weather warrant it.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance

Wendy

Portugal = quarteira beach right on the seafront wild camping and there's the site at the Market with facilities right next to Lidle

There are also, some little hideaways all along the coastline if you don't want to parked up with the seasonal long term crowd

Olhao fab place, fantastic food and ferries to the islands for 3.5 EURO (that the ferries not with lunch) great fish restaurants in the harbour and wild camping in the carparks but there is, I have been told, a lovely campsite on the edge of town

We did it the other way around , coming up from The Algarve found some nice places but unfortunately even though it was June the weather wasn't great. Photos, descriptions and account of our travels is on this page of our blog, Just scroll down and click on photies to get full screen pics. Worth reading the boring accounts for hints about tolls etc blog here..... http://lightningtours.blogspot.com/2013/

Perfect, thanks, just the sort of info. I was hoping for. Depending on the weather forecast we may well head south first, cruise along the Algarve and then head north up the coast as the weather improves. W

That is what we are planning, leaving in 2 weeks. May bump into you. Fingers crossed for dry weather!
