So my O/S long arm mirror has been moving back in the wind resistance for a while now.
I fixed last year in Belguim by drilling it and putting a bolt in the mechanism. after I had tried to tighten the star washer system.
I was concerned this year if I had a mirror bash and it didn't fold it would damage the door if it ripped off instead of folding.

I got this item off ebay

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-...0001&campid=5338547443&icep_item=223567787896

I fitted it yesterday but even moving the mirror glass to its widest setting, from the drivers seat all I can see is the side of the van.
it is in the lock position but I have to almost have my head over the steering wheel to see if there is a vehicle in the outside lane.
My mrs says she can see it perfect from the passenger side.
Is the a O/S RHD and LHD mirror and I have the wrong one?

Photos of the mirror and what I can see from the drivers position, although you can see the side of the van and the awning.

I believe there are mirrors for LHD and RHD drive vehicles.
The grooves in the mechanism of the mirror are fixed accordingly.
If the passenger in your RHD vehicle can see rearwards, it would appear you have a right sided mirror for a LHD vehicle.

Have a look at the ebay ad. If it doesn't say that it's for a LHD vehicle (which this obviously is) then tell them it's unfit and you want your money back.
I assume you bought it on the UK site. That means there should be a presumption your van is RHD.

Just seen this on the advert
"PRICE IS FOR 1 X RIGHT Drivers"

That to me says that the mirror is supposed to be for a RHD vehicle which again, it clearly isn't.
