enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
On previous motorhomes i have used black sikaflex 552 to secure a satellite dish to the roof, with great results, i am now about to install a sat dish on my latest motorhome. it appears that Sikaflex 552 has been 'advanced' into Sikaflex 554 and specifically states its use for sat dishes on motorhomes (and some other stuff !!)

has anyone used 552 yet, and i know there are alternatives, but i want to stick (no pun intended) with a brand that i personally know has worked in the past.

Amazon product ASIN B09N7FFXS7

if as you say its the brand you trust and they specifically say its for sat dishes i cant see why your doubting them?
i wasnt doubting the product or the company, but i do understand your post.

i was asking if anyone had used it. it might be a pig to use for instance, it might not smooth off easily enough etc.

When I contacted SIKA in 2018 asking for advice about fitting Solar Panels, I was advised to use SIKA 552. This has a greater Tensile Strength than 512, (3N/mm^2 versus 1.8N/mm^2) /and has less stringent surface preparation requirements.

SIKA 554 has a reduced Shear Strength of 2.5mm^2, which is still more than SIKA 512.

Thanks, it looks as though i can only order 554 from Germany anyway - amazon are quoting £20 delivery !!! so i may use 552 as you suggest. i hadnt noticed the reduction in tensile strength, so thanks for pointing that out !

The more important bit is to ensure the roof is slightly abraded where you lay the sika, and the bottom of the dish mount.

everything om my roof is held down with stixal much cheaper and its held for 5 years

Just make sure your prep work is perfect and take note of Sika's usage instructions regarding temperature etc.

I seem to remember there is also a minimum 2 or 3 mm adhesive thickness requirement as well?

I used it to fasten my solar panel to the roof and had no problem.
