I am curious to find out if anything has changed re: travelling through the Channel Tunnel. It was said at one time that lorry drivers had to hand over ham sandwiches etc. Is there more questioning in regards to food etc or is it still just a gas check?

Yesterday, nothing other than the Check in for Dog owners is a bit tedious as you have to present all your documentation as well as the Dogs to get your boarding card in the new Pet Passport Centre.
Extremely quiet at 3.00pm.

Heading into train now.

No food checks for us, paperwork checked, a smidge longer than normal, but fine.

The border people came into our van when returning via Calais tunnel in December and stomped about making messy footprints but just checked under beds etc. presumably looking for refugees and not for any food, booze or swag

Been through 3 times and nothing different apart from the additional paperwork required (have it printed out the amount of people trying to find stuff on their phones is making it much slower). Only checks from non-border staff was gas as usual

Just gas checks last August and required to stay inside vehicle. The toilets were not in use, to the consternation of a few car occupants.
How the stay inside vehicle works for motorcyclists I don’t know? I will be finding out in May though with a bit of luck.
