Just wondered if any of you that have had it - or know someone who has - how you think you caught it and would you have done anything differently?

He works nights and was on over most of a weekend just before the symptoms. I don't think anyone knows so far none with symptoms although he only had mild ones (lucky at 60) apart from his wife they're either in their 30,s or kids. They live in Nottinghamshire it could well be a dodgy area as Nottingham itself is one of the highest.wino so has his family all caught it?
I was working for a company whose factory was up near Huntingdon, all work was in London, they agreed that the project managers should not travel to London, for safety, but they then brought the London managers up to the factory for a meeting, to explain their Covid measures, all people in one small room, 2 weeks later, beginning of April, I was in hospital seriously ill,
When Sue told them what had happened, they made me and a few others redundant, because of business downturn due to Covid.
Nice people, not.
They still deny any responsibility for our illness
A pal of mine went into hospital in Carlisle with a collapsed lung and contracted it in hospital, he's out now and on the road to recovery. My elderly Uncle went into hospital in Cardiff a couple of weeks back with pneumonia and caught Covid in there last week and died yesterday, not sure whether it was Covid that killed him, but he had been picking up until he caught it ?
So sorry for your loss. No masks on public transport back thenMy sisters friend who died yesterday at 62 of COVID caught it on a train on her commute in London. She caught it before lockdown in March and was hospitalized since.
Glad your wife is on the mend. That's the frightening thing, not knowing how you caught it and why your wife got it so badly.Wife spent 13 days in hospital 8 in ICU Was touch and go first few days this was 30th March not 100% yet but well on the way to full recovery we racked our brains where we caught it no real idea and no underlying illnesses so no reason why either
Scary time
sorry to hear that..sending prayersA pal of mine went into hospital in Carlisle with a collapsed lung and contracted it in hospital, he's out now and on the road to recovery. So according to the official figures she probably won't even count as covid in the figures it's unlikely she's had a recent test. I suspect theres quite a few like that.My sisters friend who died yesterday at 62 of COVID caught it on a train on her commute in London. She caught it before lockdown in March and was hospitalized since.
Is this the evidence you mean https://fullfact.org/online/PCR-test-coronavirus/PHE have such low figures at the moment that they have combined seasonal flu ,pneumonia and CV19 to make the numbers up there are no clinical differences between them, the test is non specific .It is on their website for week forty onwards should you wish to look.
I sympathise Janine as I too had a stinking cold despite hand washing, hand sanitising, face masks and social distancing and living on my own with little contact with anyone in the prior week or so. Your thoughts are mine exactly, so do these "safety measures" really make a difference to stopping this elusive Covid which only attacks groups exceeding 6 people, pub drinkers but not restaurant goers, and totally avoids the healthy ones going to a gym and ...............? I'm baffled and confused.Over the weekend, I developed a cold. A plain, old-fashioned cold. No temperature, no cough, no loss of smell just lots of snot.
But I haven’t been anywhere to catch it! And if I can catch a cold without having contact with anyone except for the guy behind the counter in the corner shop , how easy would it be to get COVID?!
If it’s like the school my wife works at, there are buddy groups and maybe in your example the teachers and pupil are in the same buddy group. Then only affected buddy groups need sending home. That's the frightening thing about this, initially not knowing if you have caught it and where but then passing it on to god knows how many people.
Just heard last night next doors boy was sent home from school as 2 teachers have tested positive. The school is opening as normal today.........is that right??????
I think the truth probably is that it's like trying to stop theives nicking your MH. You can take measures to reduce the risk and it's sensible to but you will never eliminate the risk.I sympathise Janine as I too had a stinking cold despite hand washing, hand sanitising, face masks and social distancing and living on my own with little contact with anyone in the prior week or so. Is this the ONS/Oxford University Survey? We have just agreed to do it. Can you please tell me how the money is paid? I understand it is a voucher. We weren’t going to take the money but somebody suggested that we give it charity. If it is a voucher would that be possible?I was contacted by a study group based in Oxford and am tested every week (and DC) they come to me we get paid for doing so ( £50 for first visit and them £25 each per subsequent visits takes 5 mins and we get the results back same week! )
