Has anyone here ever had a new carpet cut and edged for their MH? It would need to be cut using the old one as a template, then edged. Does anyone know of a firm or individual who does this?

Ask at a local carpet shop. They will know someone local who has a binding machine. In Yorkshire I know a couple of carpet shops who do this. There is also a guy who sells mat's on Newark market that sells binded mat's that also will do m/h carpets

You will find the binding will cost far more than the carpets.
We now buy luxury fully bound runner carpets from Dunelm for about £5 each. So cheap that you can afford new ones ever year.

I made a detailed template and then cut my carpet accordingly. If you take your time then it'll be a much better fit and look than any manufacturer can fit - and you can choose top quality pile like what we did; none of this crappy stuff that comes with the original MoHo.

Good to know it’s called binding. Thanks for the ideas folks.

We’ve bought carpet off-cuts (twice over the years) used the original carpet as a template and then found someone to bind the edge.
When Pip has finally grown up we will probably need to do that again!

We used:-

They did an excellent job and were very quick and efficient.
They are based in Bolton but will travel up to about a couple of hours.
We booked into a CL in Derbyshire for a few days for a nice break and they did the job in 3-4 hours. All the stock and whipping machine is carried in the van.

We’ve just had mats done for our van. We used the ‘whipping service’ offered by Tapi carpets and just bought a remnant and they then cut out three mats and edged them for us.
Did a good job 👍🏻
