Grrr! Cylinder exchange problems (1 Viewer)

Anyone else getting fed bullsh*t by petrol stations who are now refusing to do *any* exchanges except on a strict “like for like” basis?

My two nearest stations both refused to accept an empty 7.5kg butane cylinder in exchange for a 6kg propane. No amount of arguing would sway them and I had to drive across town to my local Calor depot who happily swapped it and confirmed they they should have accepted the cylinder in exchange.

Not happy.

As they're Calor agents maybe you need to ask Calor why the garage is refusing?

When I worked on a Campsite we had the a Calor supplier come each year and check our stock against what their system said. If the numbers of each type where different we had to provide the relevant paper work to show either a cancelled agreement or a new agreement. So we used to always say we could only swap like for like. To much hassle and paperwork to do it. Ive got about half a dozen various sized Calors and wouldn't have a clue where the agreement is for them.

Our local Calor supplier changed over to FloGas some months back, and moved into new bigger premises. It seems to have been good for all as customers are happy paying less, stocks are up, staff are not grumpy, and the business is thriving. I'm still trying to persuade them to put in a LPG pump and I think they will next year. Calor lost the plot years back.
