Further to the above the part number is 55272702. I have tested the old sensor. I assume that it is a resistor. At room temperature the impedance is 21.8 kohm and when immersed in boiling water it drops immediately to 5.8 kohm. I suspect that it is working OK. This is getting more confusing.
