Last day in Sweden great day at a car boot sale !!! Brought a bit ! So 7 wks over here got back to van and I GOT A PARKING TICKET !!! after figuring out Swedish parking rules /signs I got caught last day ! Google translate said parked within 10 metres of road junction ! Frustrating I knew of this but when I parked up it seemed ok with me but obviously parking man had his tape measure out ! Still a wk away from U.K. , does any funsters know how you pay a fine once back in U.K. ??

You have my sympathies. Twenty years ago I got a speeding ticket in Sweden. I ignored it. When I got back home there was a letter, written in Swedish, waiting for me. This was in the days before Google Translate and I don’t speak Swedish but I could see that the fine total had increased considerably. I ignored it. There was another letter a few weeks later and the total had a few more noughts on it. Once again I ignored it and a few weeks later I emigrated to New Zealand. I am on Sweden’s Most Wanted list and can’t return ... but then again, I wouldn’t want to. It’s a boring country IMO.
In your case, I would suggest you make efforts to pay the fine, unless you’re planning on leaving the country. Big Brother will find you.

I know it’s a pain for you but I wish that regulation was implemented around here. Cars park right up to junctions, seeing oncoming traffic to pull out safely is a nightmare. One guy can have 3 or 4 spaces further away to park ( as in 4 car lengths behind where he does park) but still parks a few feet from the junction.

Could you try a Tourist Info Office ? They’re usually quite helpful and someone will speak English.

Possibly here?

I think, but not 100% sure it means the fine reference number should be put in when the OCR number is asked for.

You can use international transfer if you do on line banking, failing that go into a branch of your bank when you return.

They’re like that in Australia. There are some who would say it’s ironic, considering they’re a nation of convicts. I couldn’t possibly comment, coming as I do from New Zealand.
