We're heading across there in a couple of weeks for short break .

Are there any good campsites? Is wild camping allowed?

Are there any "must see" places?

Thanks in advance :)

I don't expect many have experience of motorhomes on Gran Canaria, but I may be surprised ?

We've stayed in an apartment (Blue Bay Beach Club) almost next door to Camping Tarajalillo, between the main airport and San Agustin/Playa del Ingles - it looked reasonable, but a bit barren (and next door to the local Aero Club):

There are a handful of other campsites on the island.

We saw a surprising number wild camping within the southern resorts - I think mainly locals from the north of the island, down south for the weekend.

Had two weeks there in feb,,Food disappointing,,didn't see anywhere i would want to visit again,,Not as good as mainland Spain..BUSBY.

We were in Fueraventura last year, hotel holiday, and I was completely surprised at the number of motorhomes seen. Lots on the beaches.
Apparently its a long ferry trip from southern Spain to the canary Islands and then local ferries to the various islands.

I was there in February, loads of motorhomes about,

Don’t know about sites, but whilst thinking about a winter break in the Caneries, we saw a post from someone who had been. The ferry deal he bought allowed him to visit all four major islands for as long as he wished, provided he kept moving in the same direction as the ferry route.

Anfi, one of the nicest places with a stunning beach. Been there three years on the bounce for xmas, such a nice atmosphere and so relaxed.

But only a few hours for us ;)

@Yorick - as you know I was in Lanzarote and Fuertaventura for the winter but didn’t make Gran Canaria - however I do know there are a few campsites there and wild camping (Parking) much the same as your island :)
