Or any Red country that you have visited in the last 10 days

Where did you get the 'only by air' from, because it is not in the Government Rules quoted above?

If you read the government requirements for returning from a Red List country you must pre-book the quarantine hotel and there are only 8 or so designated arrival points - all airports. You would be met and escorted to your hotel. So, must arrive by air

as Clickem has stated. This was one of the reasons France was not made red, many believe, a while back as no way of quarantining people arriving by vehicle.

if on thurs the next review of the traffic light system france goes green then i will go if not i think it would be too risky ,i would not want to be down near malaga when grant shapps comes on the tele and says france is going red in 2 days time and having to bolt to the tunnel to much unwanted pressure

As per previous posts, France is unlikely to go Red as more likely to go Amber+ if it moves at all.
There would be no change for travel purposes if it did go Green in terms of the cost for tests and teh only difference for it being Amber+ (which allegedly doesnt exist anymore) and amber is a day 8 test and Q10 with possible day 5 release test

if that happens book a passage home direct from Spain either bilbao or santander

I would rather walk the hills and stick two fingers up to politicians, or as I address them Orator's.
Control, confusion, fear, I am not playing the game.
It's only a control game, never fear they all will be gone as the human species will too.
The animals will sit back and say, Well what was that all about! Good job the humans have all gone

I have asked before what happens if you test positive before returning. Never got an answer. Nobody knows. My take is all test comeback negative so they dont have to deal with you. Just another cash cow and another layer of beaurcracy to put you off going.

We're still holding back until it is declared safe and we feel safe, but really want to get back to France. To make matters worse, our French neighbours sent us a lovely email over the weekend 'News from Cheffois' and said they were missing us ...

Of course, this may be diplomatic speak for 'Oy, we're fed up hacking the growth off your back lawn, get out here and tidy the place up!' But Rene & Annette are far too kind and generous to do that. They are pure gold.

Yo'd have to park up in mh for 10 days until you test -.

Hotel.BUSBY.
<Not if you arrive by sea. Yo'd be Arrested as arriving illegally. Can only arrive from red by air & in to 1 of 8 airports.

This has got to be unenforceable, probably why they dont fancy doing it.

The traffic light system seems to be based on imaginery values anyway.

Then the government should also have put that in the link in post #2

What happens in Mallorca which is somewhere I know about is if your test is positive the Balearic government pays for you to isolate in a designated hotel (basic food) or you can choose to isolate in private accommodation at your cost.
So I guess if in a Motorhome that would be your isolation place of choice

I've drawn a blank trying to find an inflatable big enough to take the Motorhome.
