Glencoe anybody?

My daughter said similar when schools closed yesterday. Lots of mums at the school gates arranging play dates, talking about going out for group meet-ups........treating it more like a holiday opportunity than isolation.

Not just Glencoe

I suspect that either the government will decide the numbers are too small to worry about or make it illegal to live anywhere other than where you are registered on the electoral register without good reason

NHS facilities perhaps. Strangers arriving from out of town wont be welcome by the locals who are having enough problems protecting themselves through these unchartered times.
And unfamiliar faces in the supermarkets won't be welcome in Cornwall.

There was about 6 vans in the car park in Callander and plenty more driving around today. How do I know, I was out on my motorbike van spotting for Fun. ;)

If you live elsewhere, please stop using the Highlands/rural Scotland as your means of self-isolation.

There are people here who are trying to follow government guidance and the steady stream of traffic escaping the cities to the Highlands and Islands is not helping. The First Minister and Prime Minister have been clear that non-essential travel must stop.

You are risking lives by potentially transmitting the virus to a new community. This isn’t a wilderness, it’s home to people.

Nobody is ever completely self-sustainable - even campervans will inevitably require provisions and fuel.

Please stop taking risks.

The Highlands welcomes guests and visitors all year, every year, from everywhere and anywhere. We are hospitable and welcoming, but this is a plea on behalf of fragile communities, with small grocery stores and fewer hospitals, and a higher proportion of older folks.

Well said!
Unfortunately it would appear that there are many out there that do not agree with you.
I have just been told about a couple who did a monster drive from the south of Spain in order to hide in Northern Scotland.

the selfishness and stupidity of some people amaze me...
The local motorhome Park has shut to deter these fuckwits. People think it’s safe here- it’s not, there are local cases. We do not need people bringing in more Or worse taking hospital beds that we don’t have spare.

I heard yesterday of some idiot driving to Oban from Inverness to try to buy some dog food as there wasn’t any at home..

30 motorhomes turned away from Nevis Range car park where they intended to ‘hide out’

Oh Please! people just STAY HOME.

Unfortunately it would seem a certain section of the "Great British public" don't give a f**k about anyone but themselves. As much as I hate to say it, I think the government must introduce more draconian measures, never thought I would condone such things :(

Completely agree. Police/Army are patrolling the streets here on Sicily.
Trust me, you do not want to f**k with this lot.

Well said, like some of the idiots who came on here saying it will all blow over, nothing to worry about, more people die of the flu blah blah blah.
Bet they feel kind of silly now.

Wasn't that more or less Boris "bullshit" stance a couple of weeks ago? Just wash your hands and sing happy birthday and everything will be Rosey.

depends how you choose to interpret advice, I.e. The idiots swamping tourist spots today!

Sorry I was referring to the comment about people thinking it will blow over.

The CCC has now closed all its sites. The reasons given include representations from local tourist boards and implies customers failed to follow the advice to only use sites near to home. Thank you selfish few who seem to be in the process of getting our favourite pastime closed down for the rest of the year. No doubt they will plunder the service stations and supermarkets on their way home when they discover the locals refusing to serve and tolerate them.

Maybe, but there were a few on here who were saying similar as well.

Well Ms Sturgeon announced that the military had to be called in last night to transport someone from one of the islands to a mainland hospital due to coronavirus.

No part of the UK, no matter how remote, is immune from this disease.
