Short answer, only the small (1-2kw) Honda ones are anywhere near quiet.

We have a champion generator that is as quiet as the Honda don't use it much though as have solar.

Small Honda, as above. You may be inundated with unhelpful comments of the kind that they are unsociable, and not needed. If you use sites, or go to Spain or Portugal in the winter, that is probably fair enough. If like us, you wild camp or use aires through the winter, when skiing, you will almost certainly need one. In these circumstances, with short days, low sun, and solar panel covered in snow, solar just isn't sufficient. To mitigate the noise, you will find there is a kind of generator etiquette that develops on ski aires. People tend to get back from skiing, put generators on about 5 0'clock, and turn them off by 9 latest. At least, over many years, that is our experience.
