We need to sort out ourselves a Gaslow Spanish Jumbo Adapter, and a connecting hose to the Gaslow filler point.

If anyone has these items and no longer has a use for them, we'd be interested should you wish to sell them. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I took a hit and got the set from gaslow Jock.... don’t know if it’ll get used when I’m out in Spain for the next 3mths though..?

Hi Jock. Don't have what you want but for info the hoses are around £20 from gasit or gaslow and the adaptors are around £7 to 10 in spain

I just thought I'd ask on the forum, before taking the hit from Gaslow ourselves. We'll definitely use the kit over our time there.

Thanks for that Jim. :)
I didn't know you could get the Jumbo adapter in Spain. Is it the same as the Gaslow one, or at least does the same job?

Cheers,

Jock. :)

What's a jumbo Spanish adapter do you mean an adapter to fill your gas bottle in Spain or a fitting for a Spanish gas bottle to a UK system?

A jumbo adaptor is a regulator that you can adjust the volume passing using a knob on the top .It fits spanish bottles the same as the flip type does.
Here it is used for oxy-propane or oxy-butane welding /cutting or when using a high powered pig stubble burner. On a MH it is used for back feeding bottles in to your system via the filler point.
& yes they are readily available in spain around 7-10 as that is why they are called a "spanish" jumbo adaptor.
I have one you can have for free Jock JockandRita .

Might have a pipe but I will have to have a look as I might passed it on to someone

Jumbo adaptor can be got from the shop on the camp site just up from La Toretta
Got mine there last yea for € 6

Thanks for the explanation Richard, and for your kind offer of the adapter. (y)

I'll get the correct length of connecting hose from Gaslow/Gasit.

Thanks John, that is good of you. We won't be there until 17th Jan so will see you then. (y)

In that case, I'll get one locally. Thanks again Richard. :)

You have confused me now as I always thought that the Jumbo adapter with the knob on top was not a regulator but just an on off valve and I used one for quite a few years on a bottle and pigtail which went to the bulkhead fitted regulator.
I have also used the Spanish regulator on a bottle in the awning for cooking which is totally different. I realise that you should know what they are but if you are correct then I have been wrong for the last 12 years.

I don't think you can adjust the volume it's a on off knob by turning but they can be difficult to put on and you can buy a gadget to make it easier I use 2 screwdrivers.

You are basically correct but the flip top regulator is definitely an on/off switch that passes low pressure gas.

The screw top adaptor could in theory be used to regulate the quantity passing through but not the pressure, in my experience this would be very difficult as the gas seems to start flowing in one particular position of the knob.

I am at a loss to understand the need for any of this with a gaslow system, I thought the idea was to fill up with lpg from a garage into the system already installed in the van, I can see the need for an adaptor for the external filler.

Am I missing something?

I have only used them on Spanish bottles when parked up for a few months including when I had the caravan. Now have the underslung tank so will just fill that up if I need to.

As Mike above explained, the adapter will be used to feed off a Spanish propano cylinder, thereby negating the need to pack up and move off the pitch to look for Autogas. (y)

Where are you staying jock..?
Villasol, Benidorm Garry. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

No, it isn't a regulator. It can pass for more gas through it though than the flip top one which is regulated. You are correct in that it is basically a valve that can allow far more output than the flip up regulator. which is why it can be used for cutting& burning.

Ooh we’ll have to meet up then...??
We’re over at Albir and I intended to pop over for a few funster meets...?
Would love to Garry. (y)

Jock, I have a new unused Connection to a gas flow external filling point with Spanish regulator - bought at Norfolk show this year and never used.....

soooooooo - do you have a new toy to use in spain ,,,,,???? or is one very close to being acquired still?

Hi Jock. If you dont get what you need in the UK, there is a chap on Torretta in one of the rv, s that sells gas and also has hoses and adaptors. I believe he also swaps gas bottles at villasol as its on his way to the depot, just by the market. Last year he was charging a euro more than the depot which I thought was OK for transporting a bottle direct to the van. Malcolm is his name.

It's already on the drive Dave, about an hour after the old one departed. ;)
Are you heading south to the sun?

Yes, I used Malcolm for the last two years to supply my Propano at Villasol. I sent him a text asking for a refill. He was knocking the door ten minutes later, complete with a full cylinder.

Thanks to all for their comments and suggestions. :) Thanks to Tanya_and_Mick, it would appear that I am sorted with a kit I can take with me. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
