Thank you for replying. We have had a gas check since I last posted all that time ago.It was with a dealer and expensive so still hope to find someone local. Yes, simple to Google and find someone, but would like, if possible, to have a Funster recommendation.

Have you looked at the review section on here? Under category for services there is a recommendation for DMLeisureservices in Staffordshire for example, but that may be miles from you.

Have you looked on the Approved Workshop Scheme site?

Find one near you and then search on here to see if anyone has used them and given a review.

I have a gas alarm. Sensitive to butane and propane and indeed I have proved methane (dog fart)
It came as mains powered with a 12v wall wart which I just chopped off so now its 12v

I've just checked and there is a LPG/propane/butane alarm available on eBay for £7.99. I'll be sending for one.
Why has nobody ever mentioned them before?

You can find an engineer on the Gas Safe web site

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Do either of the standard co2 and smoke detectors smell propane???
If not - why haven't we all got propane/ gas alarms
Not intending to appear a smartarse but I'm a bit confused as surely you're referring to a CO (carbon monoxide) detector which is what I have in the m/h. I've never considered getting a CO2 (carbon dioxide) detector.

Co alarms detect carbon monoxide, smoke alarms detect smoke. If you want a gas alarm that would be another alarm, but in a MOHO it would not be as much use as your nose. LPG is heavier than air so would be at low level and that is why a MOHO has vents at floor level to let it out, unless you don't like the draught and blocked them up :sneaky:
