Hi all. Looking for tips on what might be wrong. The gas bottle is full, the regulator screwed on properly, turned on, and the gas taps in the cutlery drawer are on.

The hob rings light for a few seconds and then gradually fade out. The gas heating also not working with error code E517(which suggests gas not getting through). Is this a regulator problem?

thanks !

Sounds like the regulator is gummed up.
Are you able to change it, it's a known fault and frequently happens

I've previously had to replace my Truma regulator. The oven would light, but then go out. The hob would splutter. Heating wouldn't stay on. Apparently the regulators gunk up with residual oil after a few years?

At one point I also had a butane (blue) gas bottle with a clip-on connector. It was a bit worn and wouldn't open fully for some bottles. No issues when I switched to a propane (red) bottle with screw connector.

Have you just changed a cylinder or has it been working on that same cylinder?
If you've just fitted a new cylinder, for how long did you try to light the hob? It may just need the air to be purged air out of the piping after changing the cylinder

Changed the cylinder as thought it was empty bottle.. when first attached all fine and both rings and heating worked. This morning however was as I described in the OP. Have also pressed the crash button in case it was that.

OP other half here
We think it was the regulator- have had it changed and some extra- not -needed- piping and crash regulator removed[previous owners had? LPG and Travelworld removed the system but didn't change the regulator or remove the crash thingy]
Working at home on gas was ok for 24 hours - camping with no EHU tomorrow for 3 days- on hook up before we go and fridge has never worked better !
Now just the windscreen chip to fettle ...

Thanks for replies xx

I’ve recently ordered a pair of Truma filters to avoid problems like this. Best price I found was from the GAS IT webshop at £75.01 inc vat and carriage.
