Hi folks, I'm looking for information on where people have located their gas filler on a Sevel panel van conversion when installing a refillable gas system.

We will be getting our new 6m PVC shortly which has a continental layout with the gas locker behind the left rear door. I've got a Gas It system from the old van, but I'm not keen to just install the filler in the gas locker door, as this is likely to get filling station attendants bent out of shape when I open the rear door of the van to fill up with gas. Obviously through the side panel close to the locker is the obvious one, but are there other locations that are possibilities?

Not sure what base vehicle @Minxy Girl Globecar is on but theirs is here.

Mine is on a bracket mounted just behind my side door step. It's a fairly convenient location for filling, an easy location for fitting and not visually obtrusive.

I installed them in the rear bumper/trim on both of our last PVCs, it will depend on what year/chassis you have as to which version of the bumper/trim your PVC has as to where it can be easily installed.

The picture above is of my current PVC on the X290 where I was able to put it in the rear corner trim below the reflector, some info on here:

Our previous camper was on an X250 and the rear lights were different so I put the filler in the bottom of the corner trim, see below thread for info/pictures:

Like others, got a really neat job done by putting it below the nearside light cluster, and just above the reflector. 2016 Fiat Ducato.

Pipe from the gas bottle goes out through the drop-out hole in the floor of the gas locker, then back up under the bumper to the filler point.

Technician took about an hour to do the whole job, while on the drive at home.

Thanks everyone, this is really great - the LH corner trim looks like the best option!

Yes, I was surprised it could be fitted so easily without removing the trim.

As you have seen in the various images, to some extent, you can choose what height you prefer to fit the filler point.

Just looked at your second link @Minxy Girl and saw the photos of the pipe between the filler and the bottle. Is this a 8mm copper pipe? I’d planned to use the flexible that I already have.

Don't know about Minxy's pipework, but ours is just standard flexible rubber.

The pipe from the bottle that goes out through the drop vent at the bottom of the gas locker to the filler is actually a Gaslow flexible stainless steel one around which I've put some large bore green reinforced hosepipe around order to protect it (I split the hose down it's length, pushed it over the pipe and then secured it with cable ties ... hubby didn't like it being green as it could just be seen at the rear of the camper so he's sprayed it black!
