Rather confusing title as it only applies to a few very large motorhomes.
On most motorhomes they are merely a storage cupboard.
Enlighten me on what is minimum size to say you have a garage

Anthing that holds a cycle must be a garage as per Scotch mist

We are lucky enough to have one that holds the motorbike and 2 ebikes with chairs thrown across the top of them.

I balance this out by means of copious amounts of wine in the front and have a reasonable payload after uprating

I have a garage 😎

If you think the English description is misleading - I have heard the French call it a 'Soute' which literally means cellar.

IMO they need to be big enough to hold a scooter, Our is rammed - 300cc scooter, 1 x e-bike, 1 x regular bike 2x bbq chairs tables, various tools, spares - a lot like the garage at home but with fewer motorcycles really.

I'm sure that's where I parked Brunhilde last week ... All 5.99m of her ... Rather like her owner, she's small, but perfectly formed ... [in my dreams; in reality, I'm a fuller figured individual, built for comfort rater than speed, and, rather like our sofa, somewhat overstuffed

As has already been mentioned, if you can get a car or motorcycle in it’s a garage, if you can only get a couple of chairs and a bbq it’s storage;)

That’s ours, along with assorted bits and pieces. It’s bigger than a boot, smaller than a garage. We call it The Shed.

Burstner describe it as a Ski Locker; on Brunhilde, it's the Broom Cupboard ... Less pretentious, and more accurate!

Autotrail- "a drainage area"
Swift- "An axle over-loader"
Chausson- a "je-ne-sais-qua"
Elddis- a "£3000 more for a space we did not know what to do with"

Where did you get that idea from, a Carthago Compact Line has a fairly large garage in there 6.4m version. Our van is only 7.5m and has a very big garage.

You do need to check the garage load capacity, ours is 350kg with a 450kg option some have very low load capacity of 150kg.

Our 6.7m van has a garage which has a 350kg weight limit, and is big enough for 3 bikes (at a squeeze) or a motorbike.

As mentioned above, the definition of a 'garage' means you must be able to load a normal sized scooter/motorbike in it.
(and not exceed the rear axel weight limit)

Anything else is just a storage locker.

Our van is 6M long, it has a garage, well it would be a ‘proper’ garage if the wardrobe and truma didn’t intrude you can get 1 bike in along with loads of other stuff, it is the same size as the double bed above. ok we can’t get our motorbike in but that was our choice, previous 7.3M van carried our 790Duke. At present we have 2 large chairs 2 tables, tools, blowup awning cadac, electric cables etc etc, so not a cupboard.

Anything less than capable of carrying 6 bikes, 3 SUPS, a canoe and associated clobber just isn't worth the title....

I bought my van specifically for

the garage, I can get a motorbike,2 MTB’s,2 chairs,a table, all our bike gear and various other bits and bobs in.

I would describe the rear locker on our Burstner Iexo A class 7.5 mtr as just that, although the full width of the van 2100mm it is the doors 820mm wide 780mm high that set the access. Please remember these lockers/garages/ mancaves, are usually right at the back of the van well behind the rear axle and care should always be taken how much weight you put in them

That sounds more like a bike shed

I agree with the majority view that to be called a 'garage' it should be capable of accepting a scooter or several full-sized bicycles.

Geoff

A garage is designed to garage a road vehicle. So if the hole in your van accepts a motorcycle then it can be described as a garage. I think 😁.

Ours is the cupboard. And that cupboard has just been de damped? Now heres novel, a Autotrail with NO DAMP repeat a Autotrail with NO DAMP.

And when does a Motorhome become an RV?
