Any good or is there a better alternative?

I recently tried these.....they are smaller than appear in pictures but are simply excellent. Remember to buy matching socket for them to screw to of course.

I’ve just replaced the fluorescent tubes in my garage with LED versions and it’s like night and day difference. Relatively cheap off eBay (dependabletradingltd) some are direct fit with new supplied starter, some are a very slight wiring change to one end feed. Very bright and I wish I’d done it a long time before now.

LED batten lights from Screwfix. Cheap and very bright.
Don't understand the reference to starter above, led lights don't need a starter.

It’s a blank that just joins up the circuit rather than having to cut and rejoin the wires.
Eh? That's not a batten light starter. A blank what?

Wiring them up is trivial for anyone with the slightest knowledge of domestic wiring whether they come with a supplied cable or internal connections.

Do I really need to explain this? ShiftZZ has an “old strip light” by which I understand he’s referring to fluorescent. You can buy two types of replacement LED tube, one type is a direct replacement with only the blank starter, therefore removing the starter and completing the circuit. The other type is a ‘one end only’ power feed and requires a little cutting out and rejoining of wires to isolate the stabiliser.
A very cheap and easy way of upgrading existing fittings.
