Couple of years.
Could anyone help please?
I recently installed ‘daylights’ on my 2007 2.3 Fiat Ducato based Rapido 707F which function well.
I’m not sure if it was a coincidence but my nearside front indicator didn’t work. The rear and wing mirror indicators worked normally but the indicator relay clicked rapidly and an error message on the dashboard said to check the LHS turn light. I did this and the bulb was ok.
To double check I then swapped left to right bulbs (again checking that they both worked first!).
Now neither front indicators work and I get the warnings to check both LHS and RHS turn lights! The rear and wing mirror indicators on both sides work normally and I still get the rapid clicking from the relay.
I should add that this occurs with either indicator or hazard warning light use.
Could this be anything to do with the EMS?
Really appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks, Paul

The fast clicking from the relay is because there’s less leccy being used to activate the relay. I think I might disconnect the drl and see what happens.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try if this rain every stops!

Hi, I’ve disconnected the lights but the same problems occur - fast clicking of relay, front indicators do not function and ‘Check LHS turn light’ and ‘Check RHS turn light’ error messages still appear.
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions please. Cheers, Paul

Have you checked for 12v at the bulb holders with a volt meter.
Got to start somewhere and that's the logical first step.
If no voltage start to trace backwards.

Drawing to current from the current lights causing the relay to click.

Better off wiring them up via their own relay and supply.

The drl’s are connected at F24 on the fusebox which is as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
I haven’t yet managed to confirm power to the indicators as they are within the light cluster. I imagine that I’ll have to take that out in order to get access to somewhere to where I can do a meter check.

Sorry, I’m new to all this so finding my way around!!

The bulb holder hasn’t any wired connections so there’s nowhere to test with my meter, presumably I’ll have to access by taking out the light unit?

I’ve since spoken again to the manufacturers of the drl’s and they have also said that it may be an earth issue or perhaps that I have ‘disturbed’ nearby wiring. More checks tomorrow in daylight!

Thanks for all your help so far!

Cheers, Paul

Whats nearby the connector you plugged the dlr’s into? Perhaps you disturbed the cables running forward to the indicators.

I would start by removing the daylights and see if that cures the problem. I think you are playing with a canbus system not just a standard 12v system, so I will detect the alterations and stop the power going to things. Canbus doesn’t like being altered, doesn’t like LEDs , and generally is a PITA.

Interesting! I unplugged the fuse (adapter) in the fuse box and then reinserted it, generally moved about the adjacent cables and hey-presto the near side indicator now works!
Still trying to sort the offside though.......

Have you tried replacing that bulb, it's the one that wasn't working originally ?

Definitely worth a try mcb, I’ve ordered a couple of bulbs from eBay so I give it a go tomorrow!

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😅 Thanks for all your ‘indicative’ suggestions! Fully functional now!
